@Tulsa Beasley Thank you, you were so passionate about the restoration, it was super refreshing and I loved how much you care! There's nothing worse than taking the character out of a period home, and slapping carpet over original hardwoods, etc. Thank you for the reply and your fantastic videos!
Very nice tour of the theater were I spent many a Wednesday and Saturday night for twelve years. One small point of clarification. The play that the Drunkard was adapted from is Ten Nights in a Barroom not ballroom. :)
I am thankful that I was able to perform, "The Drunkard" as Frank Slade. Then I grew, and was asked to do the role of Willie Hammond. This was in the late 1970s. I moved to Dallas, Tx shortly after this to help start a Dinner Theatre, which did not happen. I will be going to the Spotlight very soon!
As a newcomer to Tulsa, it is nice to discover more about its many charms. We have a modern baseball field surrounded by bars and restaurants and many other attractions in the art district. This city is vibrant with culture and living artists that make it a dynamic and a pleasurable place to live in. Thank you John and Patrick.
Very nice! I use to work at that Church. Miss Tulsa me and my wife are thinking about moving back. But are unsure as of yet! Hope all is well friend! 🍻🤙 -Gavin
On the north end of the trail, you might have to fight off the hoards of homeless people that hang out there. Cool buildings. Owners should spend some money to fix up and make more energy efficient.
This is a great presentation by my neighbor,John, of the river front life here. The architecture is inspiring both inside and out. The river view with the cottonwoods along is just terrific and the neighbors are a decent bunch. We all have porches facing the water and each seem to capture a different view. Good times!
"Only a poet can discern poetry in the commonplace prose of routine existence". This video is enriching my experience as a resident of Tulsa. It tells a story of downtown Sapulpa that I never knew I missed. John is going in depth with charming details about the make up of some buildings in this treasured spot. A few minutes later I gained new appreciation of our history and culture. Historical buildings and the Odd Fellows come to life through the insights John provides.
A wealth of information. John loves Tulsa and is actively participating in making it a better community. He is passionate with its historical monuments and structures. Add this to his personality coming through the video and you end up with one of Tulsa's best kept secrets.
