Hi, I'm Jordyn! Welcome to my channel, where I talk about all things books through reading vlogs, reading challenges, wrap ups, and recommendation videos!
I’m really sad. I didn’t like the enigma of room 622 for me. It was just super confusing to follow all characters and going back-and-forth with the timelines at the end kind of just went on and on for me.
Honestly, It’s refreshing to see I’m not the only one who’s life gets in the way of read a thons! So glad your daughter is getting better! Because of this vlog, I think I will move The Last Murder at the End of the World to the top of my TBR, subscribe to Alees’s channel, and see you both for the live show!
My niece got a mosquito bite next to her eye the night before her parents' wedding - so all of their wedding photos have this adorable two year old who looks like she got punched in the eye!
I'm glad your daugher is doing better. Hopefully when you posted this video she is completely better. I gave Middle of the Night 2 stars. I liked it a little less than average. I don't think I am going to read The Last Murder at the End of the World because it doesn't sound like something I would like. Looking forward to more of your reading vlogs.
I’m about halfway through The Last Murder at the End of the World and I’m enjoying it so far, mostly. Excited for the book discussion later this month! 🎉
Brought back so many memories of taking my kids to watch my husband play ball - they were always so incredibly dirty afterwards that I hardly wanted to let them in the car lol. I''m so sorry for your baby girl! I'm glad she was doing better by the time you signed off. I just checked out Turton's book from the library today - here's hoping that it works for me. I haven't read any of his other books so who knows!
Summerween! My favorite vlog week. Middle of the Night is my July read; so I'll be looking forward to your review. I just had my very first B&N shopping trip and picked up The Astrology House, and had my eye on The UnWedding by Allie Condie. The cover is fabulous, and I have heard good things so far. Vacation returns are exhausting; so I hope you do get to "read in the dark"! Thanks for another fun video, Elizabeth
Glad that your daughter is doing better! My last week has been very busy. I live in California and was in Florida for six days for a conference then our Friday and Saturday were both very full with visiting friends and family. Lots of fun times, but makes it hard to Keep up with laundry and dishes and such!
I love how realistic your vlogs are, that you show your realistic reading on top of having a job and being a mom 💕 Awww your kids are the cutest! Oh no, your poor daughter glad she is feeling better!
I did too! Especially when they mentioned the head guy at the institute, I think they described him as tall and slender with white hair. It really gave strong "papa" vibes.
TLMATEOTW sounds interesting. Dystopian books are always fun. I really detest mosquitoes. Poor Krissa (or Krista?). I am glad she is recovering so fast. Softball! You just transported me back more than 60 years when we went to my step-dad’s games. Sweet memories. Life has been crazy. My friend’s health matters continue since she was nearly killed in a head on collision back on 12/2/23. She is back in an inpatient physical therapy hospital and I’ve had the privilege of helping her with daily life, clean clothes and getting her bills paid. (She doesn’t like paying bills via phone or computer. 😮) This new hospital found that her nursing home took her off important medicines, which put her in a physical decline once she was released to go home. Now that she is on a correct medication regimen, her PT is coming along quickly and she is improving by leaps and bounds. Surprisingly, I got much reading done while driving to/from my home/her home/her hospital. Audiobooks are a blessing!
Might look into Deaf Utopia, I would love to learn more about being deaf in the performance industry! I'm participating in Summerween for the first time and I'm so excited! A Novel Love Story was my July Aardvark pick too!!!
I picked the same two books as you for Book of the Month!☺ I haven't read anything by Liz Moore before, but I'm very excited for this one. It sounded like a perfect summer read. 📚🌞
House of Eve was a 4 star for me also! You should read Take my Hand it was excellent also, I think it is a Book of the Month, I gave it 5 stars. I would love to know what you DNF’d
I am also looking forward to reading The God of the Woods, All the Colors of the Dark, One Star Romance and Middle of the Night! Currently reading A Novel Love Story and enjoying it. So excited to hear your thoughts on all of these books! ☺
Looking forward to all these July videos! I’m so excited for God of the woods! Summer camp books are catnip for me. 😊 my July is off to a great start! I just finished reading funny story, and it’s my new favorite Emily Henry! I’m currently reading what the river knows and hello darkness my old friend. I’m also planning to read the time in between by Maria Duenas and faith bass darlings‘s last garage sale.
Oh no! You gave us too many interesting books to FOMO over! One of my favorite series of all time was The All Souls Trilogy by Deborah Harkness. Well, the trilogy stretched into the All Souls Universe when book 4 was published. And now a 5th book is due out 7/16. I started rereading the first four books as soon as I learned about the new release. In June I read the first two: A Discovery of Witches (579 pages) Shadow of Night (584 pages) In July I finished The Book of Life (564 pages) Now I’m rereading book 4: Time’s Convert (480 pages) 7/16: book 5 will be released: The Black Bird Oracle (592 pages) I have no plans after I finish this return to the world of witches, vampires and demons. Surprisingly, these are not horror stories. They are witchy historical fiction novels with found family, romance, a trip or two back in time where we meet some well-known British authors, royals, and two adorable orphans. There is also intrigue, jealousy and power-hungry supernaturals with evil tendencies.
You have a lot of good ones on your list for July. I will be curious to hear your thoughts. Im so excited to read Middle of the Night. Im hoping to join the live show for reading with Jess bookclub to see everyones thoughts on this book. I hope you have a great reading month for July 😊.
I like honest reviews. Thank you! I read more than 300 books a year, which I couldn’t afford without Libby, Hoopla, and Everand. I have vision issues, so I need to primarily listen, with Alexa my fall-back when an audiobook isn’t available. I have the Libby ebook of The Next Mrs. Parrish, looks like I will spend a credit for the audiobook :) (your reviews seem to match-up with mine :)
@@SorryBookedSolidI decided to start at the beginning, with the prequel (which I hadn’t read, but I am glad I did!), then reread the Last Mrs Parrish, and am half-way thru the Next Mrs Parrish! What a crazy bunch of people! lol Especially Jackson and Amber! I gave The First Shot and the Last Mrs Parrish 4 stars, but I think the Next will be 5 stars :) ❤
I am so glad to see a video from you! One, you are always very entertaining, and two I love getting to see your amazing bookshelves. I am modeling my own library on yours and have been having such a hard time figuring out how to arrange the colors. Could you please tell me if purple comes after blue? The Women!!! That is still in my mind. I loved it. I loved your Freak Out tag. Thank you always for sharing your reviews! Elizabeth
Thank you so much for replying. I reworked my shelves last night while your video played. They are beautiful now! Your channel is one of my very favorite!!!
I loved The Woman it's my favorite I have read so far. I think im in my romance and historical fiction Era and I'm not a romance reader but I have had so many 5 star romances. Before I Let Go was so good 5 stars I need to get to the sequel.
I’m so excited to read this summer could be different! I also really need to read the husbands. My answers for best book and biggest surprise for the year are the same: the Guncle by Steven Rowley. Best sequel: just for the summer by Abby Jimenez Biggest disappointment: divine rivals by Rebecca Ross New release that I still need to read: funny story
Thank you for doing the hard work and reading all these ARCS to let me know which ones to make a priority and which ones to possibly skip or make a lower priority 🪤🪭
I just finished The Next Mrs. Parrish. I really liked it, but not as much as the first one. I am trying to listen to The Midnight Feast, but not sure I will continue. I just can't seem to get into it.
Appreciate the reviews! In reference to nicolas book Its also important to note that 29:20 29:20 29:20 29:20 black as you know or African Americans have completely different experiences than people of color while some people of color discriminate against black and shouldn't be lumped together because there can sorted and unfavorable histories with other races and ethnicities not to mention tye never ending diaspora wars. i used to really love thrillers they lost their luster for me i may still give nicolas book a try. As i appreciate the effort from her and generally enjoy her writings.
Thank you for the comment, you are absolutely right! I shouldn’t use the terms Black and BIPOC interchangeably, and in this case I was specifically seeking out Black reviewers to hear their opinions. I’d be super interested to hear your thoughts if you do end up picking it up.
