I'm new to DMR, just got two 1701's.....Have a quick question - what's the Hotspot, is that like a repeater ? You turn 1701 to a small repeater, or am I wrong ?
The Quansheng TG-U2 Plus, Andreas. Amazing radio, and as far as I'm aware, the only budget Chinese radio that has a Superhet receiver I'm aware of. BUT a real pain to set up, some parts are the usual Quansheng, press F then another button. 10 watt radio with USB charging, and a great performer, but some help setting up needed; I'm on my second reset!! Cheers.
Aesthetically, the 710 looks cleaner, but the DX10 looks meaner. Ignoring the displays, the former reminds me of an in-car audio system; the latter, a mean, low rider Harley, with options....
The front button can only be assigned one of those functions - it starts with BOA by default for some stupid reason - I'd recommend changing the default to mute.
i ordered one of these off ebay., it arrived working and all that fun stuff, but the box got mangled n i think inspected by border force or something bc it was opened and Resealed with canada post bag saying it arrived like that or something. it was missing the antenna tho when i recieved it so i hadda reorder a Replacement antenna for it which will be in the mail tomorow. but it came with every thing else, the charger, belt clip, manual etc.
just stumbled on this...as i wait for my first sdr dongle to arrive blog v4....this is super useful to me beind a newb to software radio's. I love my little xdat 808 and wanted to dip my toes into this world and see if its for me...cheers

Much love brother, I hope all is well 🤝 I have the zl10 and it looks like they have very similar operating systems. It took me a while to get use to the keypad but once I logged in everything worked fine. I noticed they ran the proper screen size also. I want to run Visor so I can fix the screen format on my ksun zl10 and add apps but I don't have the commands but hopefully I'll be able to find them and overhaul the radio.
