This is linked to my blog "The Coxswain Perspective", to provide an account to connect videos and voice recordings with. I aim to keep this as a visual resource for both my own coaching and competitive activity, but as well as collating material from across the internet relating to rowing. All the material uploaded is my own, unless specified that it is a select piece of someone else's material, and is therefore mentioned.
Please pass this around and let others know - especially as a cox, I want others to be able to learn from me and others I've learned from, as there are very limited resources for 'coaching the cox'. Enjoy!
That end of practice breakdown... surviving your third practice of the day at camp with your buddies... feeling like you can steamroll through the whole world together... there's no other feeling quite like it. Will be the most visceral memory of the game they have long after they hang up their cleats.
Superb coxing and row. Classic HORR, brings back memories with TSS from 1991 to 2000... didn't have RU-vid back then, so thanks for sharing the whole course. Well done Brooks.
My coach showed this video to us before a race a few years back to get our boat energized, still coming back to it from time to time, it never fails to get me hyped for a piece
I remember watching this movie with my brother when I was kid. We’d watch it going up to my grandmas house. He always loved football.. He died of a drug overdose 2 years ago…
I’m 179cm, 97kgs and former front row. I’ve gotten into rowing recently as a way to lose weight and stay fit. I follow this race as a session closer. My absolute PB following it is 1684mtrs. Crazy respect for rowers getting another 316mtrs on top of this.
