Hopefully someone still answers questions on this video 😂 So I saw someone in another video put the red wire into pin 41. What’s the difference? He did have a slightly different tow mirror than the one you have but his signal on glass still worked.
Hi guys, I have the same mirror's on my 2010 Toyota Tundra Crew Max Base, I had to wire everything, but all I did for my switchback to work, I looked for my fuse for tail light and use a fuse (15amp) tap for my truck, my turn signal, I ran a wire straight to left turn signal to left side mirror and right turn signal to the right side mirror from the headlights and I grounded the black wire from each mirror to a hard ground on each side by the doors when you run the wire from the door in to your truck or car and for my reverse light I di run it so in reverse they come on the same way boost auto show, and it took me 15- 25 mins for each side the hard part was running the wire from the door into the truck
@__ll7__ Curious, it says the turn lights are in pin 41 on the wiring harness. I noticed you just wired it straight into the block. Is that tapping into pin 41?
I had power tow mirrors before they were oem and everything worked. I swapped them for smaller power mirrors on the 1500. Now I’m going back to aftermarket tow mirrors. Do I have to wire it all up like this? Or will it be plug and play for full function?
So I’m going to be doing this on my GFs 2018 Sierra she bought a harness for exactly what you did theoretically should be the same thing you did right?
Sounds like you either didn’t pin the correct terminals or you have a 2014 or early 2015 model that requires an RZY harness on top of this for them to work
Hi LL7 I just put my passenger side tow mirror on. My vehicle is a 2017 gmc Sierra slt. Stock mirrors had power adjustment power folding and turn signals in glass. Puddle lights also. I bought a pair of sanooer tow mirrors with power adjustment, power folding, running lights in front, and turn signals in mirror. Also has the cargo lights. The turn signals work in mirror, the power folding works, the running lights work as in they turn on but don’t blink when signal is activated. The cargo lights turn on when I press the cargo light in side. The main issue is the power adjustment. It moves vertically but won’t move the mirror horizontally. Any ideas?
Quick question, is there any videos or anything to use on how to get these pins out in the case of you messing up? i tried using the terminal release tool to push the tabs in but it doesnt seem to work at all...
Hopefully I can get your attention. Four month ago I did that same step as the video. Everything work but unfortunately now on the right side the running light are no working even the brake light and the headlight. You think because I didn’t make a good connection on blue cable it’s stop working?
Hey. Just wanted to thank you for this video. I just installed my new tow mirrors on my 2015 gmc Sierra and followed your wiring to a tee and everything works great. So thank you!!
When you say 2015 and up come pre pinned do you mean that the harness is just pretty much plug and play? Or do you still have to run the wires? I only ask cause I may need to buy some pins before I attempt installing. Thanks in advance!
2015 and up means the pins inside the door jam will be there and you can do exactly what I did in the video. If you have an early model 2500 or 2014 15 and 2500 you'll need an additional "RZY" to add the pins inside the door jam. Hope that helps
Thanks for the detailed info I just bought a 16 previous owner put towing mirrors on but the directionals don’t work and the cargo lights on the mirrors don’t work I am going to take it apart this spring and fallow your instructions.. I will keep you updated.. thanks again 😎👍
I'm Replacing my existing tow mirrors with blinkers So I only need to add pins 9 and 11. lf my truck didn't have the cargo or running light feature will it still work by just adding the pins I need to buy pins and I want to button up the door panels now so I want to run the wires for later
So I have a question, I just purchased a 2024 Silverado 2500HD my tow mirrors have no switch lights. Is is possible to add a switchback light to my towing-mirrors.
Hi, so i followed this instructions on my 2018 Chevy 1500 LTZ, z71. I had the original side mirror with the power fold, signal on glass, puddle light...option. I bought an aftermarket Mostplus tow mirror with power fold, heated glass, signal of glass and the running light... I then install a dynamic switch blade signal on the aftermarket mirror because i prefer that than the one that came with the aftermarket mirror. However, after installation i only have the power fold, cargo lamp and power adjustable glass. the running light and the signal on glass doesn't work. Did i miss something or do i need any additional harness? I already ran the blue wire to pin 11 and the white one to 9. . Hoping someone here can help me.
Yes and it’ll be wired the same way unless you don’t have turn signals in your mirrors, if you don’t it’ll still all be the same Except you’ll use the red/yellow wire and go into pin 41 like I did with 9 and 11
