Another insightful professional Part 2 video Roland. Interestingly I never once considered of his age when watching the video. He’s a good overall driver and I wish him well.
Excellent video! We live in High Wycombe but my son got test booked in Watford for 21/2/25 due to DVSA mess up. Do you have map/instruction to follow the route for the test for Watford please?
In traffic jams like that you just gotta squeeze in. Instructors dont want you to do this because they are too scared that you will hit someone but this is literally one skill that driving schools dont teach that are super critical for driving during rush hour.
This is just how it would be judged on test. It’s decision making. This also being an advanced mock test for driving instructors. But I do understand your point!
I randomly stumbled across this video as someone who lives in Barnet so it was interesting to see you take him through these routes. And as someone who goes to Mill Hill to go to my gym, I hate that roundabout so much! The design just doesn't make any sense to me and I can easily see how he got caught out with that right turn, not knowing he should be in the middle lane. But then also I get confused with the "proper" lane to be in when taking that exit onto Mill Hill Broadway, whether it's the left lane or the middle lane at the traffic lights just before the exit, curious to know your thoughts?
@@GetWheelDriving I'm glad you agree it's not built right because I've been saying that to my friends for ages haha! I will definitely check out the video, thanks for letting me know it exists :)
Great Video Roland! I really enjoyed the mock test and took so much benefit from it. We had a chat afterwards and I took everything you said on board and managed to pass my part 2 one week later! Thanks so much for the help, the advice was invaluable! Part 3, Here we come! Get Wheel Out! haha
Hi, I am interested in mock test, but struggling to find test date for Part 2. do you know which test centre likely to have some dates, I am based in East London, however willing to travel. thanks
Hello so far watching your ADI part two video. Miraculously I memorise all your route even though I am in Birmingham great demonstration and its really helping me out. Thank you :)
@@GetWheelDriving it'll be 2 months and counting but have yet to drive as I'm waiting for my car. That said, planning a trip to scotland and rent a car there! can't wait :D
Hey buddy I passed my ADI part 2 on Wednesday with only 4 hrs with my trainer. But I used your ADI part 2 mock test videos like this one as a reference point on what to do/what not to do. I basically watched where other people had failed and used that as a foundation for reference points to sharpen my own skills. My test was in Chester which I was not familiar with as my 4 hrs training was done in Manchester. But I passed 1st time. Many thanks for all this free information you provided. Time for part 3 which I've already done 20hrs training online. Happy chappy, cannot wait to get teaching 😊
Really good video and helpful advice about difficulty of left hand lane for vehicles turning left behind. I noticed at around 3:52 that the car in the middle lane turned left too so not sure if more of a rsik that way due to road geometry affecting drivers' choices. Also van turning left block left lane so not sure if you'd moved from left to middle anticipating that as normally stay in left as think there were two lanes to the right on camera when waiitng to exit. Maybe a box would help as keep clear seem to imply more for vehicles entering roundabout. Have noticed on some London roundabouts boxes aren't adhered too which can be due to sheer amount of traffic making it hard to progress sometimes. I think sometimes people are under pressure even with cameras due tiimpatient drivers. Earlier on the bus obstructed part of a keep clear though length makes it even harder form them to emerge and not block though as they were there you wouldn't have interfered any more. It might be possible dependeing on vehicle size and careful positioning to fit two vehicles behind lights on left lane. Ideally it would be best to leave room for two vehciles on both lanes on dual carriageway to pass though harder with long vehicles and makes it more difficult for traffic in blocked lane. Not easy turnign across dual carraigeway either especially if you wnat to go into left lane on far side and think you have to block right lane on first carriageway unless angkle car carefully in centre but harder to see or unless you can do in one go as says in Highway Code but impractical in situation such as this when busy.
Can I add to this? An instructor doesn't have to shout at you to make you feel nervous, inadequate, or anxious in anticipation of lessons. Trust is very important in this dynamic. The instructor is in a position of power and responsibility. If they are: over-critical, over-analytical, judgemental, perfectionistic, impatient, raising their voice just a bit, telling you in a panicky way to calm down... all of that is going to impact your ability to learn. If you're driving under the stress of the student/teacher dynamic, that's going to make learning that much harder. Learning to drive can be very stressful for a lot of people. It's really important to reflect on your feelings about your instructor and your lessons once the lesson is over. This can help you to understand if you've found the right fit for you. I've been through two instructors in the past 3 months for these reasons (and instructor one was using his phone in lessons). My second instructor was so uptight and judgemental, the small points of praise did nothing to cancel out the feeling I was constantly displeasing him. I'm starting with a new instructor in an hour. I will switch instructors as many times as necessary to find the right dynamic. You're paying a lot of money for this service! Switch if you feel it would benefit you and never feel obligated to any one instructor if the fit isn't right.
Ha ha! His hands came off the wheel!!! You would have lost points not reminding him to keep his hands on the wheel!! 😅 I just had a lesson ADI PART 2 MOCK with Roland yesterday! 😂
Sir i m so worried i have to pass driving test and m biginner i have spent 7 hours on driving still i m unable to judge that how i can save my car from touching the curb when i turning left and at the same time how can i make turn to left without i cross the while line that is on the road to which i m turning left to Can u make video in that plzzz. If i try to save car from curb it cross the white line that is on next road where i m turning left and if i try to keep car away from White line i touch the curb..wat should i do ? Plz help
Even veteran driver stall. Even the car inventor also. So it's common means a fault of manual. Why scientists have not done anything to these. If speeding are by the driver issue.if I give different car to examiner he will stall. So why nothing done to these .
I think slightly harsh on the roundabouts. A signal could have confused as much as helped. Another driver could have thought he was changing lanes. I see where you're coming from, but I think slightly harsh all the same. Good video though!
As someone who passed their test 2 months ago. I feel like someone giving way to me when they have priority on my test makes things more complicated than they need to be. then again it happens in the real world and now I have a bit more experience, I'm use to it! Unless its really really busy, I would prefer people to not give way just to be nice on my test. I also passed in goodmayes somehow!
get yourself a mechanical arm, save you leaning across...... but for tolls yes, should have the automated system, crazy not to if spending any amount of time in France or Spain.
