You got a lot more problems then an oil drain plug. Dinged up oil pan and coated in oil. Looks like this vehicle has never been touched by an experienced mechanic in its life let alone taken to an actual shop.
Good grief ya'll You loosen the lock nut and turn the screw piece about a full turn to the right " clockwise " then you turn the screw back to the left " counter clockwise " until you feel resistance then back to the right 1/8 turn more or less and lock down the locknut while holding the screw so that it doesn't move. The lock nut is 14 mm only !! Not 9/16 th. The locknut loosing is best done with a wrench but a socket will do to break it lose if a Moron has been the last to snug it up.
First off that Nutt should never be 17 mm that Nutt should always be a 15/13 mm been working on cars 26 years of my life often on and every oil change has been a 15 or 13 never 17 and those old-school new school wrenches you never have enough room to use them go get it oil filter socket that fits on your ratchet for your make and model car you have multiple cars by multiple sockets got a love how people think they know what they doing to decide to make a video cussing about shit and fram is all you should use
My cart takes some time to get going. I've adjusted the clutch in many ways and the brakes are not hanging. It rolls in neutral very well. The best I can get it still has no power. It starts slowly and picks up steam, but when starting up any sort of hill, it gets louder but doesn't actually move faster (if at all). It's like the gears are just spinning and not hooking up. The longer you ride it, the hotter it gets and the worse it gets. The kicker is that it works much better in reverse. It will actually go, but terrible in forward.
Just did this on my 81 passport, adjusted this maybe 4 times by feel without ever being satisfied with the result. Did it exactly as you show to, now it shifts amazing, thank you!
I knew this was bull when he said he worked the plug back into shape and it looks almost perfect. Riiigghhttt. Don't blame walmart for the fact that you are incapable of doing an oil changed.
My mom had her jeeps oil changed at Wal-Mart a few months back. I went to change it today and same situation. Drain plug is on so tight I had to use a breaker bar. Oil filter I gave up on until morning. I've never cussed or thrown so much crap just from attempting an oil change.
Walmart does not take off drain bolts, they suck out oil through the dipstick as a matter of economics as well as to prevent all these people from crying over tightened plugs and wanting compensation. I also have a hard time believing that they would put on the filters too tight, since they do hundreds of services and would either hand tighten, or use a simple oil filter wrench.
