Drove multiple vehicles in Afghanistan a decade ago. They did not require an IDP. They did not like foreigners and were very hostile. They shot at us, we shot back, we called in air support to mediate the altercations. Also very large pot holes. Do not recommend 1/10.

I just traveled from UK to France and went to rent a car from a major rental name , 3 weeks ago they accepted my UK license and this week they changed and needed an IDP.
