Ok. Thanks for your reply. But if look closely, he is actually doing plantarflection, that is not something I can do at 6 or 7 weeks. I’m not an orthopedic. I’m a mechanical engineer. Anyway. Thanks for sharing. Thought, this is far the most advanced stage I’ve seen on the internet AND in my actual treatment. I can’t even deduce which leg is the injured!!!!. 🤕 😊🤷‍♀️.

I just hit 6 weeks today. I’m walking but not with that confidence and normal gait. Still in the boot but weaning off and adding more dorsi flexion gradually. Step by step. He is doing awesome but don’t rush the process. I started full weight bearing at 3.5 weeks and removed all heel lifts at 5.5 weeks. Goal is to walk by 7-8 weeks with a normal gait. Watching others and learning about tendon healing is critical. Also, I’d suggest walking in a pool that submerges 70% of your body and practice walking in it. That helps build confidence. You have to embrace the injury as your new normal and create small goals and challenges. It will make you stronger mentally. I also got far more into weight lifting than before. Don’t be depressed, get over it and move forward. I even set the goal to have bigger calves within 2 years. They were both 15 inches and I want to hit 16+. You either get smarter and stronger or sink. It’s your choice

@daysofgrace89
@daysofgrace89 2 месяца назад
I’m on week 9. Doing great. Started walking without a boot at week 8. My walk is still off with a limp. Regarding confidence - it’s all mental. I have to constantly remind myself that it won’t retear and even if it does (which it won’t), then who cares. I’ll be fine. You have to embrace the worst case scenario to deal with the fear aspect, but deep down, you know if you’re being careful, the likelihood is very small to nonexistent. I did surgery by the way.

I am having this surgery in October. I’m in NZ so you can’t help me. I have been dealing with it for 2 years now. My tendon tore in November 2023 so pain has been really bad. Only problem with medical system here is you have to wait for the main system to decline you before you can go private. The main one declined me saying they couldn’t cover me for surgery because my accident wasn’t related to my injury but age. It made me angry as I am not that old
