This makes it so clear that Romeo, despite all his misery, doesn’t want to die. But he’s both returned from exile and just killed one of the most important men in the city, so he’s a dead man no matter what. He will die for love of Juliet, but he’s also utterly trapped.
This is the first time ive seen the balcony pdd choreographed like this. And i've seen a lot. Could use a bit more storytelling and acting, a little too stiff. Her port de bras could be more fluid. Costume wise is not period appropriate. But not a bad effort.
I don't get why Juliet kills herself. She knows that Romeo drank the same potion that she drank so she would know that he will be revived as she was. All she has to do is sit and wait for him to come round.
You don't know anything about Shakespeare's work. Do you? He didn't drink the sleeping potion. He drank the "I want to kill myself, and this will help me do it!" poison.
I miss watching this! Before the pandemic I always watch shows in CCP. Kudos to the magnificent dancer and the choreographer who created this piece! I love it! 😍 Bravo! 👏👏👏
