I am not from st Thomas but I am a jamaican and so I love my jamaica and I to see st Thomas and Portland get what is over due and hopefully st Mary in the not so far further. Infrastructure developments like these will create better jamaica for us all with a more stable economy alongside great management. Then we focus more and more on the devils which are criminals and crime.
This is the time for Jamaican overseas to come together and invest back in Jamaica .look three or four Jamaican can come together and do some real estate in St Thomas .
I bet you a million dollars that it fall short of the proto tupe. Andrew Holness is a fake and never deliver what he promises. Trust me people. He is going to. Build a few building for for the parish council then tell yhe people he will build the rest later. Trust me peeople council
I hear no word and mention of the utilization of solar energy. Its time to infuse the abundance and availability of the natural resources around us to decrease the costs and traditional use of fossil fuels (harmful and costly) and replace with wind, water and solar energy. I want to hear nothing about the Prime Minister's desires and wishes. This was not his brainchild.
Too much government services and involvement....sometimes less is more....this should be a private project without government involvement, it would get done faster too
Nice. Also, need a lot more trees otherwise the place will be a frying pan. Going forward, cheap or free high speed internet will minimize the need for office space as well as bringing the world to Jamaica's doorstep (making good social programs to spread the wealth all the more important). There is also a need for electrical vehicle charging stations. The planners have also under estimated the value and utility of renewable energy in general. In particular, pumped hydro via a towers should be considered as part of the facility plan, both as a mechanism to keep the solar panels cool as well as provide water pressure to the area in addition to functioning as an storage battery for the solar panel excess energy. Wind turbines aren't necessary and becomes a nuisance so close to habitation. Put up more panels instead.
I am currently living in the UK and I am seriously considering relocating to Jamaica. If your plans for St Thomas are put into fruition; St Thomas would be my preferred destination. However, I am interested to know what are the plans for people who are disabled. In terms of inclusion in accessing the planned development and the overall community environment? I think this is a great opportunity for planners to reinvent, at least, one area in Jamaica that put disabled and wheelchair using residents and visitors on a level footing with everyone else. Promoting St Thomas as a friendly and inclusive environment and city to everyone. Disabled individuals have limited options to choose; make it accessible to them and it would be accessible to everyone.
@@marciaallen2144 The property will also be bigger than originally planned. Size increased from 365,000 square feet to 436,000 square feet. Cost: US$40 million. A major upgrade and blessing for Saint Thomas and eastern Jamaica.
@Oral A Campbell Wow, Oh, Wow!! I will definitely be visiting once the work is completed. I can appreciate your excitement. Exciting days ahead for you and St Thomas.
@@marciaallen2144 I am just happy to see Jamaica developing with these significant, lifestyle changing projects island wide. From Saint Thomas and Portland in the east to Westmoreland and Hanover in the western side of Jamaica. The major airports and seaports are also being improved.
Hi Morant Bay, how is your urban center going? I want to visit there soon. So glad for the people of St. Thomas. Can't wait to see it! Must be a lot of business now
My sister spend a long time looking for jobs only to be told she is overqualified and won’t be hired because they can’t pay her. This is why so many of our smartest minds migrate to find opportunities.
PRAISE DE LORD...THANK GOD FE JESUS ...BUT A WHEN IT AGO HAPPEN...AFTER WE ALL DED AN GONE..I HOPE NOT... Sorry, me all too excited. We need it bad- bad. 👍👍😎😎
Three Years Later....👀 👀. 👀. 👀 👀. 👀. 👀. 👀. Oh this must have been an election promise. Next election meet up with everything looking as it was initially. Poor St Thomas people...taken for a ride agaiñ.
Stop sending out applications and start your own business! We cannot allow only foreigners to do business in Jamaica! The Jamaican banks do not lend money to Jamaican young people to start business!
