Forgot to mention the lake is private. You need to live on the lake or have a home with lake rights in order to have a boat. Lake Zurich is also a dead town. The current gov board wants to build more townhomes and apartments in order to suck up as much tax money as possible instead of allowing restaurants and bars to boost downtown.

We moved from Vernon Hills to San Diego on 1/2/80. I was 13 at the time... wow have things changed. We used to ice skate on the three lakes at Deerpath and we lived closest to the middle lake on Bedford Lane. We used to cut through the corn field across the greenbelt to Hawthorn Mall and the farmer would chase us off. What a different world. So many great memories of Vernon Hills. What a GREAT place to be as a kid in the 70's.
