Hey man i been watching all your videos. I need help with a steering wheel swap. Change out my sc400 steering wheel for is300 and bought the part from ebay like you. How did you get your horn to work.? Everything is connected, but it won't, honk.
Hey, thanks for watching! Is your horn set up the same way with the pressing on the center to activate? The adapter harness is just for the airbag. The horn is just a ground wire. I just looked at IS300 steering wheels on eBay, the wire for the horn might be blue with a single female connector that should slid on the a male tab on the horn. Hard to explain everything in a RU-vid comment
same for me but i figured it out little summary your going to have to find the ground wires, for the sc steering wheel it’s going to be the 4 t30 and on the is300 wheel it’s the 3 grounds all i did was connect some electrical tape to behind the ground so whenever you push it down it sounds, hard to explain but hope this helps
I actually have a fq440 #24/40 from the uk but live in the US hahaha . Only 6 ever done in phantom pearl black.on stock internals im running at 825awhp and 32 psi at only 2300rpm
I would not cut and splice new connectors if the original ones are destroyed, good way to introduce more problems down the road. De-pinning connectors is far better and more reliable long term, and really not hard to do.
@@BuildTheoryZ oh I am it’s a roadster got it with a clean title with 75000 miles on it now it’s undet 81000 we drive it on weekend wife had a slingshot so I wanted a convertible I’m at that age though .
As a 17yo who decided to get an abandoned sc400 while knowing nothing about cars this was very helpful will be getting started on this maintenance soon 🫡
Yeah LOWES is totally inconsistent I’ve had employees tell me to go grab the same one send me out the door with no questions then I’ve also had others ask for receipts and then tell me I need to call a 1800 number even with the Kolbalt stuff that is their house brand, Ace on the other hand is always been great about warranties from my experience they have even given me a upgraded version at times when they had no identical replacement in stock. On the other hand Home Depot is always been consistently great at exchanging the Husky tools in the rare event they fail as they are basically a less expensive version of Gearwrench. I can confidently can state from years of experience that Husky and other Apex sourced tools tend to be manufactured to a higher standard than the vast majority of modern Craftsmen SBD imported tools available today.
daily drove my car for 10 years. it had some minor fixable issues and your average 30 year old car stuff but through all the other performance cars ive had, every time one has broken in a way worse way or just got out of hand... the 300zx has always been there waiting for me. never skipped a beat and is now at 230,000 miles. i plan on twin turbo swapping once the engine goes but honestly i have no idea when it will lol.. its a great daily for the summer time
Cool vid man but what other steering wheels can you use, I see a lot of RX 350 steering wheels and RX300 (2000 Steering Wheel 23613210 ) on Ebay but not RX300 wheels? Thanks!
I’d love to own an SC400/300 and keep it running flawlessly for as long as possible. Even if it means having to replace a lot of old/aged parts with newer/upgraded ones. I know maintenance is a bit more expensive overall (especially considering their age), but I’ve always loved their styling, and I’ve heard nothing but good things about both engines (both the 2JZ and the 1UZ). If I can find a stock one in good condition, I’d honestly consider making it a project to do a ton of research on these cars and work on modernizing and upgrading it. Honestly my favorite 90’s car design by far. If anyone owns or daily drives an SC and has advice in regards to modern-day reliability, maintenance, ownership costs, and availability of parts, I’d love to hear your thoughts and experiences
Thanks for the Video Idea, I actually have the car in the garage right now for maintenance, Ill do a Video. Thanks for the comment and for watching the video.
