Hi there. My name is Carol and I love stories and drawing. The other day I bought a digital drawing tablet and thought stories and pictures? I also enjoy gaming - well, house builders, renovators and decorating games. I will explore with you if you would like that - it sounds great to me
It's looking great! You can probably use some of the birdhouses for the miniature town in the attic. Hopefully the Halloween update will bring some fun stuff for you to use in this build 😊
I must say that I am thoroughly enjoying your House Flipper 2 content. I am quite new to this "game", but (in spite of its little quirks) am quickly falling in love with it. Interestingly, I often have your videos playing on my other screen when I am working in HD2. (That is when I do not have Classical music playing.) You have some interesting and brilliant ideas. I hope you don't mind if I "steal" some of them for my own designs. PS: the reason I put the word "Game" in quotes is because I don't really consider this as a game. I think of it more as (kind of) an inexpensive home design program. I have never actually played the "game", I am strictly in it for the Sandbox mode. Anyways, since I watch some of your content I thought I should say hello, and let you know that I appreciate what you are doing here.
Welcome and thank you for watching. You are more than welcome to 'steal' as many of my ideas as you want. If you haven't been onto mod.io yet I have quite a few builds there you can play around with. I agree that the sandbox mode is way better than the 'game' side, which I find quite frustrating. I look forward to your feedback on more of my vids and if you have any ideas you want to share they are welcome
I really love your banister job so far and with all the fancy furniture ain't the house in a different form and shape, I can't remember either than that house looking great.
I'm glad you like the banister, in tomorrow's video I decide that there isn't enough space upstairs and decide to change the whole curve. I did the changes off video because it was moving and lining up many, many pieces of the banister lol. Results on Monday
@@book-ish_ I sent you a picture of my build and thought the 2nd floor looks like by watching the movie per room, should be from stairs be first room with closet and shared bathroom entrance, bathroom with another shared entrance to master bedroom, then will be the library or office and last will be stairs to the attic. So all that I got from the movie but not necessary will fit proper in the house you are building. The entry and staircase, as well as the living room, attic, and study have the correct placement, but the other rooms in the house aren't properly aligned.
Didn't show floor tiles in pictures but think the bath tub is in center of the room if you look at the curtain on it in picture you may have as the curtain is facing to the wall you think the tub is on and the sink is on the left of the door coming in the bathroom not sure where toilet is, so I'm not sure if you have bathroom in right spot either than that looks good. Just saw somewhat how to build the towers roof on a Sims game and looks like he's using 4 half pitched rooves one on each side of the square sides creating the flat top, hope that helps. I sent you a picture of the bathroom and the youtube name of this build in the sims game for idea how the tower roof is build.
I have a screenshot of that exact same picture. If I have space available I will move the bathroom and try and make closer to the movie. We can see once all the other rooms are in
@book-ish_ I don't think you'll have a problem, but if you want one you can do my rooves on my Victorian build lol, where is that little box room to that in on the roof and who knows that could be part of the bathroom or bedroom.
@@book-ish_ Not just one attempt, I'd get the shell of the house done then I'd ship the house to Africa to you then you can do the roofing lol, ya it will be a difficult one for sure and hope I will figure it out if could be done and if not I got myself a old movie based old house aka motel be the only hint, the build looks pretty basic that it should be done quick so I may start that then figure out the Victorian build, well the roofing as the build so far turning out not bad.
For some reasons only the resizable block and resizable plywood lets you resize on wall or interferences the rest pretty much has to be either off the wall or on the ground. Fars I know those post you are talking about do resize if I'm not mistaken or is it because of the angle?
@@book-ish_ Ya we need is a cone and half cone roof, flat top pitch and half flat top pitch roof and some sort of bayed window area hexagon, heptagon, octagon, nonagon and decagon full and half rooves, then resizable height and width of a half curved and quarter curved block and maybe a resizable round cylinder block starting size of the resizable block and able to resize width and height, the rest such as more doors such as closet doors single and double, short, normal and tall in size, different styes of closet doors sliding, bi-fold and louvered and more different window styles of all different sizes 2x2, to 2x10, 3x2 to 3x10, 4x2 to 4x10 and 5x2 to 5x10, 6x2 t0 6x10 and 7x2 to 7x10 picture and ones you can open, quarter and half round, round square, rectangle, oval and octagon shaped windows, more resizable width and height curtain types and styles and maybe curtains and regular glass doors and sliding glass doors for building your own showers and I can go on and on lol.
I'd be interested in going in with you, only problem is I'm from Canada and only see US, so I don't know if I go to that cause I don't see CA or CAN in the co-op region list, I see yours is ZA.
Use the resizable square block as the triangle block be too wide and may have to center the window towards the house walls a few smidgens. Ya the patterns will not gonna line up proper as it is something that is not meant to be is why cause we are cheating the angled walls in to work and reasons that hopefully the Devs figures out a way so we can build angled walls just like building straight walls if they can figure out the grid patterns as for right now I think it's squares and that's the reason we can't build angled walls, they should ask the Sims creators how to build that kind of grid to make angled walls work cause you can build angled walls in that game, at least the original old ones you could.
@@book-ish_ Nice hopefully we get more angled and curved stuff and the roofs that go with those shapes too will be awesome and more doors for closets, short and tall, wide and narrow and rounded top doors to for old Victorian homes and for what ever other homes uses the single and double.
If you gonna trim the outside of the house like that then use either the resizable block or the resizable plywood then won't be as thick as the the normal building block is making it bulky looking.
Those side walls you doing for either side of windows, if you get them lined up nicely with the corner of the actual straight wall by moving them around with snap to grid off inside and out nice and flush then I would resize them right to the floor to ceiling and resize the bottom block to the in between the 2 side angled walls then do the same for the top of the window wall, the snap to grid on is only to get your angle, you may know it may or may not be 100% flush but it will be at least 99% good enough, but if you do then that's awesome. You just have to do some tweaking with the angled walls to make them perfect as possible then you'll get the hang of doing them all the time. Oh and move window with snap to grid off too to flush it to the outside wall as snap to grid on is like the walls just to get the angle, but so far looks way better. and no hundred little triangles to the floors and ceilings cause you did one large one for each side tops and bottoms, good job.
@@StephenBourne-xr4cu I could fiddle with them a bit more to try and fix the pattern, maybe many smaller block. From a distance I think it will be ok lol
@@StephenBourne-xr4cu If I had all the time in the world, I maybe could fix it, as long as it looks fairly close I think it will be good (even the dev's get the builds a little wonky
Say if you decide to do a bayed window area the easy way video or at least to me it is that I showed you I had learned it from RU-vidr AmbientGameScape of I think is a her stone cottage build which I'm still working on my version of that build.
I might leave that one to her. I don't want any copyright strikes. But if you have any quick tips that you have discovered, and you don't mind me using them I can make them into a Saturday short video
@@book-ish_ Ya good idea and yes go for it for what ever I show you that I created or how to do things better use it and if I wanted to be a secret I wouldn't have shown you which I'm not like that I like to share so no worries.
That curve part for the stair case is 100% what I wanted to do in the Amityville house build but no way of putting proper railings in for that way reasons that I did the boring squared cornering way lol, but if you figure it out then I guess I'll learn it from you.
@book-ish_ ya that might work but you might be like me and say F it too much work cause a few times I tried framing the eyes of the Amityville house and wasn't happy with it reasons I left it with plain quarter round windows.
@@book-ish_ Don't you worry I will see it lol, hope you had a great weekend, mine was great with nice weather all weekend only down fall is it's the end now lol.
@@StephenBourne-xr4cu I hope you enjoyed. Our weather went from 30 to -1 C in about 36 hours and there was snow in places we never have snow this late in September, if we have it at all. Yesterday there were nearly 2000 vehicles stuck in 1 of the mountain passes for hours. Our weather here in South Africa is crazy lol
Speaking of that doesn't make sense is in the master bedroom in the Amityville house where there is a window above the sun room and it's suppose to be for the master bedroom, but by the looks of the pictures of the real house guess they walled it off blocking the window and had floor to ceiling mirrors behind the bed so I did the right thing and not did that and left it as a wall with window in it. Looking nice so far and you'll find out if too big or not big enough to a point when you put in the rounded windows in for the tower part of the house to whether they be centered or not and hope the pictures I gave you are accurate to help you better on the layout part cause the first one says that they are the original floor plans for the Maitland house and I'm not sure if it's the same house you are doing now and if not guess it's pause and play the movie to help you out lol. The bayed windows I gave you you can do it for bowed windows too I believe where you have a bit of walling below the windows inside your house instead of floor to ceiling bayed windows, just remember to use resizable triangle to fill in the angled gaps instead of 100's of triangles to fill in the gaps lol.
You did it perfect good job, like I said if you don't want to open all the way just add a block or 2 of actual wall floor to top of the end of the rails, only problem is sometimes it will still open all the way and then will get stuck due to the actual walls put in at the end of the rails, so that would be up to the builder as well, other than that just trim and paint to your desire and thank you for showing everybody on how's it done as I know from HF1 people been wanting pocket doors and that they actually work.
@book-ish_ Yup we as a team when can be done, love watching you as much as helping out if could and same to you when seeing something different from you and greatly preciated, for me it's all about fun and relaxing watching you and other RU-vidrs I enjoy watching.
@@StephenBourne-xr4cu Thanks, I really enjoy sharing what I learn as well. In fact I have been given access to the HF2 co-op, but haven't tried it yet. Apparently I open a lobby on my game and then people who have access can join me
@@book-ish_ Hey it's all good I just want to help you bettering your build best as possible as it can get and for the roofing you are right it won't be fun to do specially at the angled part of the walling so good luck cause I haven't played around that part just yet to figure out and to show you how it's done if possibly can be done worse part will possibly the roof for the tower unless you do one with a point instead of flat.
@@StephenBourne-xr4cu I do appreciate your help, I did a lot of searching and figuring where to put what from what I could find as well. The roofing lol, I think I'm going to do the square roof and then build through to the square, maybe, we'll see how that works
@book-ish_ Yup we need more in game options instead of hard work to create what we want done for sure, but if can be done we will sooner later figure it out till then.
@@StephenBourne-xr4cu I was looking at the time line they gave us and there is something else due in the next month or so, maybe Halloween or a winter update. Maybe we get more interesting options this time
Don't you just love doing angled walls lots of fun, hope you don't need windows and doors in them cause that will be a treat to do, looks like just a couple of bayed window area which you done before, try the way I sent you lil while back the easy way of making them and that funny gable roof by the tower do slopes as it's 2 different sizes of roof each sides to a gable look and not sure bout the towers roof cause it's flat on top but rest of the rooves looks to be doable.
@@book-ish_ Nice, can't wait to see it as at first I thought that was the decking with that wall on the back till you did the angled walls creating bayed windows, I'm like that looks huge specially for one 3 x 6, 3 x 8 or even 4 x 6 4 x 8 window, so glad you fixed it.
Thanks, I had a look. I've seen quite a few floor plans for this house and none of them tie up with the movie and/or the exterior properly, so I am going to squish the rooms in where I can get them lol
Thanks, it was fun decorating 2 units in different styles. I might do the others at some stage, just gonna upload them to mod.io as they are now and give others a chance to complete them
@book-ish_ Have to print out another copy of the house, I spilt coffee on it lol but still that half of the house done just some of second floor added on and they are few angled walls, some with windows and so far one with a door ant the stairs are on a angle too, fun fun fun lol.
As long as you share the photo's lol. The lights are flashing like crazy, even on my new build (out tomorrow) I think I need to check my settings, again!
@book-ish_ Yup saw that and I gave him some helpful tips of what I told you, the pocket door and the deep dish pot light idea, he did good job on the dining room.
@@book-ish_ no not the shell pattern it's the spotty exploded paint look tile that I find the worse lol like the spots stay the same color but can change back ground color. I did like the shell pattern but you changed it lol.
You know I learn from previous HF1 youtubers they use bright light in the room to see true color you choose and as of now you got very little light from the window and a lot of shadows that makes the color darker than what it suppose to be and that's the biggest reasons people uses too many lights for many differences reasons, mostly to show color and effects from the lights.
@@book-ish_ Did you also know in HF1 white is grey lol, probably cause of the lighting same goes with all the metal colors with no proper lighting it all looks black.
@@book-ish_ Peaceful Streaming is one of the HF1 youtubers and think she's the one who uses specific lights to see colors proper, there was another one named Crack3rz, don't think she's doing anything anymore though but has nearly 200 videos of HF1.
@@StephenBourne-xr4cu I must have a look. I know you can now change the tones of the lights so they look warmer or cooler, I wouldn't mind some color selections for the lights. They have it in Hotel Renovator and it definitely helps
@@book-ish_ Pretty much what our spring is starts warmish to summery weather in our spring then really warm to sticky humid hot in the summer. Our winters for last past 4 or so years has been nice and mild think the lowest we had was - 15 if that where we used to get into the - 20 something and lot of snow and now think we barely have a month worth of snow for snowmobilers as it was good enough for us to ride around in our 4 wheeler quads with out getting stuck.
Resize that trim out 1 more and flush it up to the sliding door frame while the over sized part will be into the wall, that would work or try making a pocket style door I showed you then you don't have to have such thick trim.
That statue you just hung up on the wall if that was a toy size and in HF2 I can see you building a foosball table with them as they look like the foosball figures lol. Just poke a pool stick trough their bodies in a rectangle box and a golf ball.
@@book-ish_ Great Metallica song Sad but true, but ya reasons I don't play HF1 anymore since HF2 came out, I'm more creative in building than I'am decorating lol
Dang that's what we need in HF2 is already stacked pool table balls as in the Amityville build I had to stack them myself lol and yes RU-vidrs deserve a break too as much as us workers do, just don't quit I need you to relax me on stressful and long work days lol enjoy your weekends and will wait patiently for new DLC to come or or if you decide to play that Zoo game I will give it a whirl to watch.
I promise I will keep playing. Just waiting for the DLC and I'll be back with that. Probably going to play a few small games between now and then on the weekends
@@book-ish_ Ya cause I like your HF2 content mainly the sandbox mode as I love seeing peoples creations better than just doing story mode decorating or what not, I'd still watch but love seeing peoples creations better, more entertaining for my liking, plus you tend to learn new ways and thing to help better your build or to create stuff for your house.
@@book-ish_ Ya I get ya, for me when I need a break I watch you guys do your thing or maybe play Farming Simulator 22, so you are waiting for new DLC for HF1 and I'm waiting for Farming Simulator 25, gonna watch game play on youtube first before buying, but hearing and seeing some clips for it looks cool having tornado and more realistic gaming graphics so we'll see.
@@book-ish_ Looking for some Victorian homes on google to try out on HF2 see where that gets me, think I found 1 to try out, it has quite a few angled walls on this one so is this gonna be 3rd house gonna be stuck on lol says it is 4008 square foot house with 5 bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms.
Looking good hope you fix the squares poking through your home made entertainment stand other wise looks great. Center the pot lights first then place square block with circle pattern in it, may have to move them in with snap to grid on.
I did fix the entertainment center build, just sure which video it's on lol. If I use the snap to grid for the lights they don't sit in the middle of the square
@@book-ish_ What about the square block with the circle hole in the middle called breeze block Elgon use that for the square holes you made to put the lights in and thought you would fix the entertainment stand.

@@book-ish_ I know was just a joke, I like to joke like that too to make you smile or a laugh to help you through a bad day or bettering your day like the things you say on your videos, if I had a good laugh at it I usually comment them down such as your Dammits and It'll be Fine. I had a good laugh at your last phrase about your newest carpet garden and putting shrubs in on top your building, I forget what you said but was funny as hell.
Perfect curtain job now your boxed in tech for the top to hide the rails then be perfect, but since I paused the video writing this down you probably have done that lol so scratch that haha. Just use 3 or 4 curtains each side as one side of wall is larger than the other and some needs to be push in and closer together a notch.
You could maybe run cabinets across the wall where the stove is then may look better and for ideas in your head keep them write them down will help too and can't wait to see your ideas built up on here next I bet it will be cool. Actually think the cabinets will be too deep to do so and if so what you have done is good enough.
I have a whole file with ideas and pictures, in fact a few files and I keep looking as well. I took the kitchen from one of the files I have, it's not the normal style you see but I think it works quite well
@@book-ish_ Would be cool if we could do functioning furniture but just like in HF1 work shop has lot of cool stuff but for the doors and what ever suppose to function doesn't work, but hey I made functioning pocket door and it works just takes time to build lol.

for the bathroom sink counter you created resize the counter top down a bit and resurface it with the resizable shelf and do the same for the bottom part then be able to place stuff on both surfaces.
@@book-ish_ Hope the steps look easy enough for you only by pictures as it be pretty neat even for double sliding door just mirror both sides and if having 2 different colors on the walls then have 2 halves of the resizable blocks as walls, just don't forget to use snap to grid on so it be nice and flush to your bottom half and I would assume you would put trim there to separate the 2 colors and make it more stylish.
