I do an easyer step i cut pie shape pieces 6 inch and coat the inside drain then take my strips and dip into the product then install it forms much better to the inside bowl then lay a full 4 x 4 sheet with the drain cut out over the top 1 peice then you dont have lap pieces to deal, just another way to do it
40 mils is 40/1000 of an inch. The graphic says 40mm (also often said wrongly as '40 mils'). 40mm is over 1.5 inches, too thick!! So to be clear 40 mils = 40/1000" = 1/25 th of an inch = 1mm (millimeter). Fire your graphic artist and proof checker please!!
What a bunch of idiots! No skill in using a torch so they glue it on like pussies. If your going to glue it USE a notched spreader at least and get the adhesive on evenly. Using a squeegee must have be when they were cleaning car windows at the intersections for loonies!
Well the city of Detroit, and the taxpayers, just overpaid for a roof coating that wont last half as long as a better system that would cost half as much....
You know back when I worked under S.Jones (Best/Most knowledgeable, experienced roofer/and (mine) mentor/supervisor) as a lead Field Resources Tech Rep. and Inspector the question's at the end of the day would be," #1-Why aren't the laps and or field plies bonded with both points of contact receiving adhesive,#2-Why are we not cutting roll in 3rd's and setting and I didn't see granulated ply laps stepped in or rolled." Just a few of the obvious things that come to mind after working for the BEST ROOFING MANUFACTURER UNDER THERE GREATEST EMPLOYEE/SUPERVISOR (OTHER THAN MR. TREMCO HIMSELF) ,I Believe he is their still, S.Jones West Coast. Anyway just my thoughts
I've installed hundreds of Tremco roof systems from Burmastic, Thermastic, Tremco edge metal " can't remember name " and all Tremco roofs have been exceptional quality well above other manufacturers, however didn't we use this " bond field membrane to plate " method in the 1980s where we installed 12 inch plastic plates every 4 ft in staggered rows ,then spot glued the field membrane to the plate system ? We used another plate fastening system where the field plates had a know on top where after gluing the membrane to the plate we snapped a locking cap over top the field sheet attached to the plate ,both plate adhered systems failed badly . I cannot claim I have any direct knowledge of this method of bonding field sheets to plates ,nor can I attest to how well " This method " works ,if it's a Tremco approved method then I have faith it works well to secure the field membrane but I have hesitations due to previous technology that's failed for EPDM manufacturers in the early days of single ply ,feel free to educate me if you will ,I would LOVE to install this roof system to try out this method of securing field sheets .
As for Tremco products you will not find better products ,After 35 yrs as a journeyman roofer who's installed every major roof system I prefer Tremco cold applied Burmastic modified asphalt roof systems ,the only product that outperforms Tremco Burmastic is Tremco Thermastic molten hot applied rubberized asphalt 4 ply and gravel roofs .
