I never got it with those ,a stock one puts out barely 100hp at the wheel and it is somewhat heavy and slow to steer ,that old tube frame and dual shocks is dated and offers nothing ,of course you can swap out parts ,just buy a old ZX 12 R and stop pretending.
Hey Dave, I'm doing a conversion to my r6 to the same generation bike this is. Do you have any idea if yamaha has changed the bearing size between 2004 and 2009 for the stem shaft?
About to start my aprilia rsv1000 engine casing swap due to cracking yhe engine casing when something got stuck on the chain, minimum mechanical experience but 🤷♂️ duck it
Had been modifying my ZRX1100 about 7 or 8 years ago and my wife's health prevented me from pursuing my plans. I am attempting to pick up where I left off in May of 2024. Im retired Airforce aircraft maintenance. I may be recruiting Mr. Compton to pickup where I left off to get her running. it is probably 95% to be able to ride again. I would be contacting James with particulars. I have not lost my desire.
Man I really wish you would set up an 04-05 zx10r. It’s the Only Bike That No one has any good info on. There’s Nothing Helpful on the internet about this bike especially for a 60kg rider.
I Really Wish You would Do A Suspension Setup on An 04-05 Zx-10r.. There’s Not 1 Single Video on RU-vid Of Anybody Setting the 04-05 Zx10R Suspension Up. I’ve Looked Everywhere. I’d Bring the Bike to You But I’m Located in TN. Your Waaaay too Far. I’m more of a Visual Learner
i like this style vid, favorite Dave Moss vid, hopefully can find more of this style. tire wear is interesting. I ran into a unknown for me. I understand theory of high and Low speed Compression. but i would think you would open up the high speed, Dial in the Low Speed( I assume its the old school, the foundation) then work on the High speed. But, honestly not sure, been out of this stuff for bit, so "High Speed" is out of my wheel house, I do understand the different inputs that are "high vs Low speed" it's not your speed, But speed definetley matters. I think of it like braking bumps,, chatter, same stuff a slow rebound can create "Packing". I may be off base??
I honestly would have liked to hear the engine sounds change throughout the tuming process but i guess you prefer absolutely ruining a great video with copyright free elevator music. Re release this episode without the so called 'music'
I have ridden for many years but I have never done a track day. but I really find these videos interesting. and I learn a little bit each time I watch one.
No mention of the tire being on the wrong way round, if the tire could run any direction there would not be an arrow for the correct way to put the tire on
Sorry to say I have little respect for a rider who had to cheat to stay at the top and to try and beat his own team mate. Matt was a very good rider but a big fish in a small pond. He should have moved on to WSBK after his first 2 or 3 titles?
He would have dominated WSBK like Ben did. He was making way more money in the AMA . Spies to a big pay cut to go to WSBK but he had a plan to get to motogp
he didn't cheat... or do anything his teammates weren't also doing (if you are referring to the illegal crank shaft disqualification. Tommy and Ben had the same spec). Mat has also said a million times that he already did motorcycle racing in Europe before he came to the US. he was content to finish out his career in the US.
