2 x JC120s but neither miced up in front ? Miced behind or did Paul invent amp modelling 15 years before the POD ?
@shawnstarks1743

And he's the reason I play Roland JC 120's. The otherworldly space sounds he got on the Man Made performance? With all the pinch harmonics and extremely hot Dimarzio pickups, I still shake my head. He had the crowd in a trance. Only a solid state amp could produce that modern sound. Paul Reynolds was a Monster. Did he invent it? Who knows. However, Paul and Andy Summers of the Police where big into modern sounds back then, as were most of those New Wave guys.

They used a DI box, it plugs in line between the amp and guitar. That allows a signal to go direct to the mixing board via a snake. DI boxes allow for less mics on stage. Less mics means less chance for unwanted feedback. In a multi band show like the US festival, they roll out as much of the bands set up as possible to save time so DI boxes make sense in this situation. Ideally micing amps is better so you get the exact sound that's coming from the amp and not just the guitar. In any case Paul knew what the best set up was and still is today in my opinion. Great amps and the BC Rich is a great combination. You can still find the amps but that guitar is hard to come by. Reno is a guitar genius!

Eran geniales en vivo, sólo que en éste recital no le ayudaron con el sonido y si no lo crees busca otros videos en donde demuestran que eran profesionales e incluso sonaban mejor que en los discos de estudio

They should be digging around their archive for some Stones-like from the Vault live releases - this could be made into a decent vinyl LP...plus there must be many other recordings they have locked away.

Wow.. just wow.. a FULL Flock performance. It took a few songs for the guys to come into form but the last 30 minutes or more are fantastic. Mike is in full Flock hair mode.. his brother Ai is rock steady on drums, Frank is a great dancing, rhythmic bass player and Paul Reynolds on guitar is wonderful and beyond. Paul that guitar sound is a giant definition of modernity. Lead guitar, rhythm guitar and keyboard all in one.. the crowd seems a bit underwhelmed. That’s what happens when you are looking at the future and don’t realize it. I can see why this fragile quartet didn’t last long. The US Festival seemed almost unreal to those of us in the Midwest at the time making $4.25 an hour. In retrospect this was the best music festival of the era, and maybe of all time?

The version of Man Made @ 46:16 right into You Can Run @ 51:32 is fan-friggen-tastic! Paul Reynolds isn’t underrated, he’s the most recognizable synth pop guitarist from the 1980s. But, wow, cannot give the man enough accolades. The tone, the moves, the glasses, the relevance. Legendary.
@keithpodhradsky1314
@keithpodhradsky1314 Год назад
A great deal achieved without the "synth" part, actually. Just unusual use of tones and echo. He did use an Ebow as well for Wishing. But agree he is a good guitarist.
