Raystede aims to give animals a better life through rehoming, rehabilitation and sanctuary and give people the support and knowledge they need to treat animals with care and respect.
Why has she been there for so long? Lurchers are beautiful dogs, fun, loving, and sensitive. We had our beloved Saluki/Greyhound (Lurcher) rescued from Battersea for twelve and a half years until we lost him recently, aged nearly 14. We visited Raystede and bought home our gorgeous Saluki. They make the most excellent pets, and will love you unconditionally if you have initial patience and kind understanding towards them. Simon
We recued a 2 year old lurcher last year she looks just like her if any one is thinking about ruby and thing they need lots of exercise let me reassure you lurchers are the most wonderful , loving frendly breads out there we could not be with out ours and give you so mutch love and smiles for all the joy you give them they return it ten fold
Had a rescue lurcher for a year and she is simply the best dog I have ever had. I have deep affection and happy memories for my previous dogs but she just something else. The dog in the picture was my last dog, a lovely lovely whippet.
Best and sweetest dogs in the world ❤ since 1 year we have a staffy-mix girl. Shes friendly to everyone and loves everybody and every other dog ❤ best puppy girl in the world ❤
The problem with rescue centres are there's such an issue with anyone adopting these dogs and hounds, so much criterea, most lurchers are abandoned because there either injured or are useless catch dogs! I no become iv owned them and worked them they are great dogs but they luv a chase and I'll be getting a pup after Xmas I would home a rescue lurcher but it's too difficult!
we would love to adopt another dog but we have 2 already and they are 11 yrs so might not appreciate another dog around, looked at Ruby shes lovely one of our dogs is a big black lurcher and Ruby reminded me of what he was like when we got him as a puppy, hope she finds her forever home, lovely job you all do at Raystede take care xx
And a WONDERFUL caring charity. They are amazing people and the charity has been going since the early 50's when Mabel Raymonde-Hawkins (known as Ray) started it from her home. Sadly she passed away a long while ago but her beautiful, compassionate legacy continues to this day. RIP Ray, and all those who supported her❤❤❤
