Learning the secret of flight from a bird was a good deal like learning the secret of magic from a magician. After you know what to look for you see things that you did not notice when you did not know exactly what to look for.- Orville Wright.
Beautiful video. I loved the out of focus intro and outro. Wonderful music choice. I really liked the shot angles you used. One day I hope to create videos like this.
Thank you so much. I’m no professional by a long shot. Created content for YT has been a hobby of mine for years. You can definitely make videos like this, just takes a lot of patience. Thanks again.
Thanks, I included a screenshot of the little nav map plan at the end of the video. It is the Blue Lagoon/Butterfly Coast area of Turkey. Start off at LTBS and follow the coast southeast.
So this method works for default and PMDG I know for sure and probably most jets and turboprops. The FBW 320 requires this method be disable, just make another controller profile without the detent assigned and calibrate throttle normally in the FBW EFB.
Hey y’all, I’ll be doing another live stream or two this weekend. Going to grab the B58 and ditch the gps (for now). Next stream I’ll include some basics of RMI, ADF with NDB, and of course VOR and ILS. Then I’ll switch over to the Garmin 530 go through some basics of gps (I need a refresher anyway). Probably do the same flight plan using gps nav radio and incorporate as many of the other types of navigation as possible with a quick touch on the transponder as well. This is good prep for someone considering VATSIM for the first time.
A little rusty on the 2 system VOR, especially 1 gps unit system and one ole school nav radio unit. I’m going to do a few more of these live streams on VOR and ILS in some different aircraft. Continuing with basic navigation and then move into more complex procedures. It has been a while since I have done all this so bear with while I do knock the dust off.
After more review of the situation I have confirmed that the G3X default to MSFS is not capable of Vor to Vor unless by gps. There is however a work around if you have the paid GTN750 which does allow you to manually input your course. I will verify in next live stream that after the course is input that the AP will then follow the radial via VOR1 Course and Nav1 freq.
Here is a short video ( 3 or 4 minutes ) go over my fav addons. The tree color addon is included ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-i5QefURv5xs.html
The departing airport was Fort Benton and I was flying East towards Fort Peck. I didn’t make it that far but there is supposed to be a big dam there to take a look at.
This is so badass my beautiful friend. I'm going to church tomorrow, it ends around 12 noon, I'll get home by 12:30pm. I want to fly Heli"s with you. Totally awesome video. Love it.
Thanks so much for this! I just got my Logitech throttle Quadrant yesterday. I was following the video by Huddison and was struggling to get the "toggle reverse thrust" method to work. This worked perfectly.
I have the fps lock at 40, because that is where my system hangs out when am at KLGA with a BAE146. I’m not surprised at the voice, there isn’t a way for me to control voice sound separate from system sound in the GoXLR while in VR short of getting yet another mic. I’m running a 5900 with a 3080 and 32Gb.
All you need to to as far as sound is lower the master volume of the sim a bit. it's in the sound options, towards the bottom of the list. That way you keep your mic at the same level but the sim sounds are lessened . If you want to narrate throughout your flight that is.
I’ll try the reprojection, and thanks for the feedback on the sound. I had turned the sim down from 100% to 50% but apparently that wasn’t quite enough. I’ll do my next one at 25% and see how that goes. Thanks again for the feedback.
@Jdv official So in this flight I start off just north of PANC, tons of small airstrips just across the bay from PANC. The go west until you hit the Susitna River. Take a right and follow the river north. Denali will be the huge snow topped mountain off to your left as you fly north on the Susitna. Flightsim.to has a Denali base camp addon if you desire to get up close and personal with Denali. Hope you enjoy Jdv.
Hey thanks, just trying to share what little bit I know about FS and maybe keep someone from getting frustrated along the way. If there is something you want me to touch on in my next fireside run just drop me a comment or let me know in discord.
So with the latest update to Aeroplane Heaven’s Cessna 140 the Tundra tire rolling issue is fixed. Also I mentioned there was not a map available in the 140, that’s not correct, but the one that is available is on the gps at the bottom left, and quite tiny for practical VR usage.
Lol, if you have questions about something like that just shoot me DM on Discord. Accuseason is worth it. I haven’t tried it yet, but my understanding is it can set real world season for the entire globe, so anywhere you fly you’ll be in the correct season for that area. That’s pretty cool IMHO.
That was excellent fun doing landings out on those gravel bars! Really enjoyed flying out in the Darrington area, Thanks for letting me tag along! -Darq
