Simple answer...yes. I used to visit our office in Pescara a couple of times a year. Never a chore. Get a car and explore. One day we drove for miles and ended up cooking arosticini on open BBQs on the plateau near Castel del Monte. Simple food, great company and amazing location.
LOVE this! My Father's family comes from Abruzzo. It's my dream to visit & walk on the same land as my grandparents & their family walked on. It's on my bucket list & I hope I am able to my dream come true. Thanks for sharing this! It may be the closest I come to seeing Abruzzo. Ciao!
Very fitting that you are wearing a speedy on a vintage leather strap just like in "The American" 😊 during his stay in Abruzzo. Was this deliberate or a happy coincidence?
Really cool video. Would you ever consider living in abruzzo? From what I know it has some of the least expensive real estate in Italy. I am Italian, from New York as well.
Thanks Joseph! I really appreciate it....and yes, I'd love to live in Italy some day - Abruzzo would be a great option. How long have you lived in Abruzzo?
@@SojournItaly I may have miswrote. I was born and raised in New York City but my family came as immigrants from Italy in the early 1900s. I’m 20 and with hard work and effort I’d like to one day be able to live in Italy. Abruzzo seems like a good option and so does Molise in terms of affordability.
@@josephcassano6296 Sorry about that, I misunderstood your first comment. We have a lot in common - my grandparents also arrived as immigrants from Italy in the early 1900s. Concerning your dream to own a house in Italy - you're 100% correct - with hard work you can achieve that goal. I wish you all the best. Hope to stay in touch.
Great vlog Anthony. Thank you for the fascinating glimpse into Abruzzo and the Gran Sasso. My late Grandfathers region which I hope to be visiting very soon. Look forward to more of your channel and clear easy to watch insights. I’ve subscribed.
lovely portrait of Abruzzo! Have you ever thought about visiting the western side of Tuscany? That's where I live and I'm quite positive you might like it as well...
Sounds great! I have in fact spent many days on the western side of Tuscany. A lovely region with so much to explore and try. I hope to return one day soon. Thank you again for your kind comments!
It was never a secret, it's the fact that the vast majority of tourists want to hit the big 4: Rome, Florence, Verona and Venice. Other than that, most don't even know that Italy is much bigger. Just like the vast majority believe that pasta and pizza are the only dishes to eat in Italy
