I'm Steven, and I'm a writer, artist, and maker of all kinds who lives all over the world. I've been writing letters and making things over at inkandfeet.com for the past six years, and am now getting into making videos as a more visual way to share the stories and places where I'm living.
LOVE the last photo, especially ❤ You know, watching this on my phone, I sort of wish that it was a vertical video because so many of the photos were vertical anyway. Plus, it could also be a short. Otherwise, just lovely
Thanks, Andrew - there's actually a vertical version, linked in the description. I was debating on going vertical and doing shorts, but didn't want to be constrained to 180 seconds quite yet. It's always tough to figure out horizontal vs vertical, particularly with photography. But for now, I think I want to encourage viewing on the largest screen folks have - and that's usually horizontal. Appreciate your thoughts!
Such a soothing, peaceful, gentle and beautiful reminder of what is real......thank you! I love the imagery of the tiny construction crews. And I really want to see where that trail leads!! Or just go hiking with you!!❤
Now I want to see more ove where you live, go down some of those amazing paths... but via video because walking and staying balanced is an issue for me. And kudos on creating this video since I saw the behind the scenes one on Patreon. ❤️
In terms of content and craftsmanship, this is the best video yet that I've seen from Ink and Feet. Your skills have grown so much in so short of time!
I am glad you truly know the struggles and why people stay off FB. I support you! Your content has truly engaged me without ads and other junk. ty for you for being you.
You just made my day. I always struggle with looking at how effective social media is at reaching people while knowing that I don't want to spend time there, and don't want to make other people spend time there either. Thanks for validating and supporting the decision to carve out our own little happy corner of the internet. :)
YAY! So glad you've made the jump and I'm happy to be a patreon supporter (although I'm sorry it won't be much). Right NOW is a great time because the arts are in need of help and it's up to US people to make that difference for the arts right now. Love you, Steven.
I am going to do it. I have been thinking of shaving my head for a while now. I am scared. I took the first step, ordered a wig. I know makes no sense, but I have my process. Next will be shave my head. Eek has inspired me. ty
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it! My shooting setup is pretty non-ideal for night shooting at the moment - all I have is an osmo pocket and my cell phone. I shot it on the osmo pocket, in a pretty sketchy setup involving a ladder, my roof, duct tape, and a whole bunch of extension cords. Then brought it into photoshop for a week of major surgery and denoising to save the images. :)
This is powerful, and not just because your timelapses are mesmerizing. The message really reminds me of an old Flaming Lips song, "All We Have Is Now" - in this weird time warp we're in, it's a useful perspective. Also, was that Salad Fingers on your screen during the timelapse? 🤣
Great to see you in this place with yourself!! Thank you for sharing your inner conflict....shows that we all have that struggle and so worthwhile on the other side.
Loved this piece & glimpse into your life, Steven! I'm actually intending a visit to Australia and New Zealand in 2021. I've been feeling Australia coming into my "vortex" for about 6 months now.🥾 Anyway, love these glimpses. If you ever feel moved to make another video, I'd love it. From one writer to another, I so appreciate these mini-essays about life and presence. 🍀
I like your video edits!! Something i also know nothing about am not good at but tried. Haha. 🤷♀️ isn’t life just a weird experiment?! Thank you for this.
