I want to ask only one questuin: WHY did you build the elevated line? Couldn't it be possible to build it underground? We (in Moscow) always build metro lines in tunnels in highly populated areas. It can be more expensive and more difficult to build, but the result is much better, because the metro system has no negative impact on the city, opposite the elevated line.
I was not involved in the feasibility study, but underground metro is 2 or 3 times the construction cost, and this area of Hong Kong is not densely populated, very little private land needed to be purchased.
Bismillah Walhamdulillah Was Salaatu Was Salaam 'ala Rasulillah Narrated Abu Huraira (Radi-Allahu 'anhu): Abul Qasim (the Prophet (Sallallahu 'Alaihi Wa Sallam)) said, "There is an hour (or a moment) of particular significance on Friday. If it happens that a Muslim is offering a prayer and invoking Allah for some good at that very moment, Allah will grant him his request." (The sub-narrator placed the top of his finger on the palm of the other hand between the middle finger and the little one.) Bukhari Vol. 7 : No. 216 --

I see very good progress being made to the stations and tunnels. This is the quickest way to lay the tracks in the tunnels. (as done for the Gotthard rail tunnel) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Qqh30vkhAw0.html lets see how Qatar Rail does it.................
they are concrete "sleepers" painted yellow. They are at track switching locations , but i also notice they are also at axle counter locations - these detect trains for signalling.
@87yandi ..are you worried the train will break down?....the tunnel is 4.5km long to Sandton station...but if the train does break down theres emergency lights and a walkway with a nice handrail all the way ....
@Kethull - sorry cant help you - nearly 300 Bombela staff on the train that day. I manage the programme and reporting for civils work , which has been a challenge to say the least! Trains need to run 3000 km before thay can carry passengers , so have been running up and down test track for last 9 months.........
