That’s some serious piano slander within the first couple minutes! Great content as always, I’ve played organ off and on for about 3 years and it seems so alien compared to my much greater experience at the piano
Amikor nyugtalan a lelkünk, menjünk és sétáljunk az Isten teremtette gyönyörű természetben, szemeinkkel ne csak nézzünk, hanem lássunk is, fülünkkel halljuk a szellő susogását, a madár csicsergését, szívjunk friss levegőt, a nap ragyogó fénye ,melegíti szívünk lelkünk miközben sétálunk együtt a nyárban...az egyetlen donorral emelkedjünk fel a gyönyörű angol táj fölé és fentről letekintve megjelenik a Szentháromság szimbóluma isteni zenei háttérrel..Drága Ben! A Szentháromság szimbólumok a magyarországi népi építészetben a szegedi napsugaras házdíszítése a Szentháromság jelképe, amely láthatóvá teszi a ház lakóinak abba vetett hitét, hogy Isten mindent, és mindenkit lát és óv(Deus videt et providet) Mennyei utazás, lelki emelkedés a költészetben, zenében! A kis harmónium egyedi hangja, amelyet Ben kiváló, finom zenei játéka, és zenei választása még varázslatossabbá tesz. Szerdán este 18 órakor egy katolikus lelkipásztor 25. éves jubileumi szent lirurgiáján vettem részt. A misén elhangzott "Sanctus, Sanctus, Sanctus " Szent vagy, szent vagy, mindenség Istene..gregorián ének. Imádkoztam Ben-ért is. Amikor hazaértem megláttam Ben szerdai videóját. Isteni csoda. " 💥🌱🌳🌾🏵🌍
After all the misfortunes this church has had ... a little more love from us all could help it heal and also give it some well needed publicity ! So yes please, Ben !
O, TO be in England Now that April 's there, And whoever wakes in England Sees, some morning, unaware, That the lowest boughs and the brushwood sheaf Round the elm-tree bole are in tiny leaf, While the chaffinch sings on the orchard bough In England-now!
I have been a subscriber for a while but decided to start at the very beginning of your videos. I LOVE this one! It made me feel so happy. Just a treasure!
I'm from South Africa ND loadshedding is a common thing, meaning they turn of the power for 2 or 4 or even 6hours depending on witch phase or level loadshedding we are on, our church hosts two large giant pipe organs, 4 manual mechanical and a 5 manual pipe organ, we also have a pedal organ (pump organ) witch we use if loadshedding is in place, but to get the sound all over the church we use old school battery operated hand held microphone in front of the pedal organs back side
Wonderful! I played that instrument in 1983 when it, and the church were in a bad way. I’m delighted to hear it in such good shape in your hands. I took on the displaced church choir in 1983 (renamed The St Thomas Singers) in their new home at Cotham Church where I was organ scholar. I wonder if they are still going! I enjoyed the Interstellar piece - it’s quite the thing at the moment.
I had an Etsy which I got when I was 15, and only said goodbye to it last year after 35 years and seven house moves. The stop names and font were the same as the one here, but the keyboard only went up and down as far as F. All the notes worked, and so did the Vox Humana. Unfortunately the strap from one of the pedals to the bellows kept breaking. It had a compartment behind the music stand where you could keep/hide things, and the sound was just like the first organ in this video, except that my keyboard skills are terrible. I haven’t missed it much, but this video reminded of how it had been a part of my life for such a long time (we got the piano movers to take it with the old piano when they delivered a new piano). It’s a sound I will never forget.
Now that you have a fordable harmonium, when do you start seriously looking for a church ? With the help of the drone, you’ll sure find one appropriate to the use you’ll make out of it !!😄You live indeed a very adventurous life and we are all very pleased that you share it with us. Good luck Ben Maton !
What a gorgeous instrument! Why on earth aren't these available today? I'm subscribed! To verify the quality of your content Ben 🤔 let me proudly say, I play 👉 Maton 👈 guitars. (Australian, world class). If you don't know much about them? have a look at a Messiah 🙏 when ever you get the time. 😁 The holy grail 🏆 has indeed been found. 😄
This is my favorite channel on yt! A hobby of mine is visiting old churches with my husband. You do it better because you bring the church back to life when you visit!
First, thank you for taking us on your very enjoyable journeys. And thanks for including your friend & musician comrade Billy. The classical guitar music is both mesmerizing and thought provoking. You are doing good yeoman service for all of us who will probably never get to experience any part of your travels.
My father wore Stetson hats, but none of them looked like yours! (hardly-har-har). Is that chalk showing through that beautiful, Kelley green grass? You're definitely living the good life, keep on keeping on dude!
You could make money playing it for tips in a restaurant where they serve (wait for it) organ meats. Could you compose a piece called "For Love of Steak and Kidney Pie?"
The IPhone works just fine, Ben, both for the camera and audio, and the new drone is excellent. And thank you as always for the impeccable heart-lifting poetry readings, for hauling around the portable harmonium.
Wow. I have watched many of your videos here in the US. This one was exceptional. As a church organist I appreciate your musicianship, but in addition to that, I appreciate your sensitivity to the grandeur of God's world. It was great to see the Brothers Maton performing together. Billy's solo was very moving, especially in the midst of so many conflicts around the globe. Please know you are making a difference in this world!
Ben, I look forward to each journey we embark on together. Thank you for opening a window into your world, revealing the enchanting and often overlooked small churches, organs, and stories of rural England. By cherishing the past we can better shape our future. May your music and passion continue to resonate.
