The term friends with benefits is a way of trying to make a F-Buddy sound more acceptable socially. There's not really any differance between picking someone up in a bar, f'ing them and then sayonara muchacho. In all practicality they are the same thing but it is another con that , mostly men, use to scam gullible women to think that oh it's not a 'wam-bam-thank you -mam' situation where I have not the least shred of respect for you I just want to get my rocks off. Women do the same thing but ultimately it is a matter of your own integrity. I've always used Fishing as an analogy for casual dating, Friends with benefits, etc. In fishing you have to use the correct bait to catch a particular fish. If you go into a little lake and try to catch a trout you are not going to catch much if you use a large piece of bloody fish because Trout eat mosquitos etc. So, the same thing applies to dating. If you go out and dress like a tramp or at any time represent yourself as being open to a friends with benefits arrangement, then you will attract all kinds of people that just want to F' you and move on, maybe that's what you're after but don't complain if you can't find a decent guy because you are using the bait to catch the A-hole. Same goes for guys. So if you're inclined to engage in a friends with benefits relationship don't be surprised if he/she treats you like garbage because that is what you are 'fishing' for. The bottom line is you have to decide what kind of fish you're after and then use the right bait. One more little thing people with integrity will never engage in a friends with benefits relationship. The entire concept is a part of the "it's all about me" generation. I'm going to do what I want, when I want, and to whomever I want and f everyone else that cares. I don't care about anyone's feelings I don't care about the ramifications for my future partner. I only care about me, now! That encapsulates the concept of friends with benefits. It is a purely American affectation although it is not uniquely American. Thankfully there are many women and men who have higher values than that but the concept is embedded in the current generations credo of me First f everyone else.
