Ummm dube that shook what he called a “rock” out of the converter and asked “what is that, a rock in the catalytic converter”, should not be in or posting videos involving car mechanics, he should not even be touching a car especially a catalytic when he has absolutely no idea how a car works or what smashed up catalyst honey comb and carbon is. Awesome video... i literally just got the thumbs up from the wife to start the restoration of my 98 GST spyder. The car i had when i started dating my wife in high-school. Its been sitting for 17 years. I no longer have the knowledge or time myself (probably why its been sitting for 17 years 😂). I started calling around and posting on DSM tuners yesterday to game plan and hopeful find a DSM guru/shop.... im looking to restore it inside and out. I'm not looking for a drag car, but more for a weekend cruiser for the wife and i, that's got some heat, with the occasional car show/gathering.... any advice? . Sweat restoration. im pretty sure it would have been better to swap a 2.0 na transmission with a 4.2 ring and pinion with the 1 through 5 gears from your 1.8t transmission. this would make your car hit only 2 gears on a 60 to 130 pull and have 5th gear top out at 135 mph and you will be able to hit all 4 gears in the 1/4 and have your 4th gear hit 110 to 115 mph at 6200 rpms. go faster with less power with that combo.
I know this is 3 years later but bro why did you do that? Lol. All you needed to do was ground pin 7 to pin 4 on the n175 relay under the dash and swap the 53 relay in its place. That's it.

Another thing that bugs me is people parting out cars that are still great. Usually happens when the cars are so hard to come by theres huge demand for parts, but what happens is they get even harder to come by. Crazy what money does to people.
