Yeesh. Loved these two dueting on Come On Eileen, but Jennifer’s nasalness here just ruins the song and Sara’s arrangement. Will stick to Sara’s solo versions.
I just heard her cover of this song yesterday. I was in a store and this happened to be playing over the stores PA system. I had no idea it was even a cover at first since I came in during the guitar solo in the middle of the song. I was like "Hey cool Soundgarden, haven't heard this song in a while" then her voice came in with the "Hang my head, drown my fear, till you all just disappear" I was floored. I love how she mimics the exact way that Chris Cornell sang this song yet still brings her own kind of style to it as well. I've probably listened to this song a few dozen times in the last day.
I will never take anything away from Brandi. Her voice is ridiculously beautiful. I just have yet to find a song of hers I don't feel that's boring. This, would ve be amazing taken into a studio and tracked out. They both run harmonies like weaving threads. Over, under, wherever the space feels needy. Thats a great ability!
