The volume knob SUCKS! Too small (doesn't stick out far enough) and hard to see the position indicator. Anyone have an honest fix that they have tried?
Google this and read that data "audio science review PreSonus Eris E3.5 Powered Monitor Review". If you scroll down on that forum page youll find two different eq profiles to turn these speakers neutral/flat (youll need to install apo equalizer and peace equalizer programs to use the eq). I did this and the difference is huge. The stock speakers that come out the box have crazy tuning, they are super bright/harsh in the treble, its insane compared to the neutral as possible eq profiles. I customized them eq's to my preference also cuz I wanted them a bit more brighter since the neutral target was kinda muddy/drowned out in the treble, maybe cuz I was used to the stock tuning of the 3.5s being so bright without having a different reference/monitors to know the difference.
After 2 years I can say: 1. Very good speakers for professional mixing and mastering. 2. 8/10 for listening music. It's actually a great experience, but you must play with your Bass a little bit - it's too loud sometimes 3. Very good design, simple to connect and simple to clean All in all 9/10 for that price :)
They suck big times. Everybody telling you otherwise is copping and/or has no idea what a good speaker is. But if you need something that jsut plays music and does not need any extra equipent i gues you could do worde
Bought this speakers a few weeks ago. They were revolutionary. I made my content through headphones and listened to it both on the mixing headphones and a mono bluetooth speakers. Even though I dont have an interface yet, having stereo separation and a wider soundstage is amazing. Love the bass response and sound profile, although my listening spot sucks, but I record, mix and master in my own bedroom, so there's no room for change. They are really loud and full for their size.
I ordered the Eris 3.5 for my PC together with the 8" Sub. Great Sound, but the Sub was to much for me sitting right next to it. But now i will use it with another Pair of the Eris for my Bedroom TV. Don´t see many Options that are better within this Price Range.
Hello you all, I've just installed and connected through the stereo rca cable to the computer. They make randomly a weird noise, it's not constant. Can anyone help me with this it's windows setting issue ? It's a cable issue? I've also noted the dolby application does not recognize these audio monitor so I cannot use it. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.
What about the chronic hiss noise coming from the tweeter of this and also from E5 BT version, even when there are no inputs connected? Anyone having this issue or solved it?
Great callout on the RCA inputs. I plan to run these with balanced TRS from my Focusrite Scarlett 2i2, so that will set me up nicely. Great review and thanks for giving us a view from the long-term!
where did you get it for that price? I just ordered the Fractal Terra and need an itx board. I was about to buy this one for $180 on newegg, but I'd rather get the b760i for only $40 more tbh.
I don't agree with "headphones only ever goes so far". It all depends on its use case and lots of other parameters. I have high-quality DAC, AMP, and Studio Headphones that would beat most of those speakers in most of conditions...
They are very good speakers, especially for mixing. I apprecciate their sound a lot of, so clean and so powerfull but after two years I have a tinnitus and I don't know if it depends by this spakers.
I suggest every beginner to buy 8" monitors. It's more expensive but think it's an one time investment. 8" monitors give significant low ends which matter.... Spacialy for beginners.
I think the cones are just too small. There is now way to actually mix and master on these, not hating on presonus but 3,5 inches is only 3,5 inches (that's what she said)
