How do you choose the initial base color? I notice almost all of it got covered up later on, so I wonder how you determine what the initial color will be.
I know this is an old video, but I was just wondering if you need to put a binder in to help the pastel mix. Alas I couldn't read the subtitles very fast so may have missed something, I really liked the video and how you used the spatulas to make it a nice even shape, thank you for sharing. I make new and recycled pastels too (video: TravelingArtista) ... IF you are making the pastels from commercial pastel dust (left over as you paint), it already has the binder in it. Just add water. IF you are working with pure ground pigment, you will need to add a big of binder and water. I use gum tragacanth gel or gum arabic gel. Bonne chance!

Hi Robert, doing this kind of video is very time consuming. In the meantime I decided to change a lot of things in my life, a big move from France to Portugal and a will to live closer to the nature. I’ll probably make some more videos but with more speaking instead of just filming the step by step process. I think people need more explanations, tips and tricks. No te das cuenta que le has sacado la cara más larga, la altura de las narices es muy importante porque si no eso hace se deforme la cara, la barbilla es más pequeña.
Joaquim, crie que no entendiste que el modelo que se muestra a la izquierda es el retrato que se tomó durante el vídeo pero una vez terminado. El vídeo es para mostrar paso a paso como logré este resultado. Gracias por tu comentario.

Comment faites vous pour être aussi précis avec de si grosses craies, surtout pour les détails d'expression qu'il ne faut pas rater ??? Parfois, avec une craie, ça marque à côté de là où je voudrais....😢
