Yeahhh early 2010s fashion is coming back. The knee high converse (I got a pair), Skinny jeans, bright colors but also simultaneously more emo/grungy styles. The rise of divided aesthetics + old labels and brands making a comeback (ex. juicy couture, Hollister, charlotte russe and forever 21) Mcbling and kesha esc style is also resurfacing... kinda scary since this was the time that fast fashion started to rise however it might be better because of thrifting being socially excepted now. Hopefully people remember that thrifting trends and recycling them back quickly is also unsustainable.
omgg my mom is the same way when it comes to trying to suggest me to wear sandals or open toed shoes. she gave up tho bc the amount of walking that i do it’s literally not practical, the only time i’d wear slides is at the beach or pool or maybe at a picnic(still kinda crazy to have the dogs out on the blanket without socks lol) that’s about it

So like I have a weird story that happened to me just today or well last night like I've been seeing this guy and like I thought he was cute. I walked up to him and we started hanging out. Side note like its been like 5 years since I last dated and I also dealing with my mental illness and that complex but I was like he also dealing with a different type of complex of mental illness. But I was like well at least and its still difficult we can like you know u know feel like the option to talk about honestly very traumatic things. But I also learned like other things that I just never lived in. Like my formative years were super liberal but like I was always a nervous kid and I was nervous the whole time. So like its really shocking to look at myself cause I moved just two towns over from my hometown and like its beach town. Like white people live on one side and colored people live on the other. Its so weird to me and like I just dont have a language to process this. But I tell myself Kristin I dont experience racism like stop being depressed about it, weird things do happen to me and like I have to somehow get over that. But its a real thing like how can I relate date someone who to me whatever it is pick your race and even gender on the ready. This is like super new to me. I like dont get it. So like yeah there's this one upmanship but I'm like I'm trying to deal with my mental illness and that complex but like today this dude I was seeing was so mean to me. Trying to take that in. But also like what if our lives are just about finding the next money cause its just material stuff on our screen whenever we feel depressed. OK so sorry trying to make a point, um yeah like what our life on the internet is just buying into what's our screen but like companies want to profit off of that and whatever else a person on their phone. And I dont know tech and I dont know trends but like what if all the material thinga are just low hanging fruit and those same companies still want u to buy into stuff but its not even at the level that goes to homo deus. Like vc dont even admit how terrible their own business models r. Like does any vc have laser eyes making real estate. And also like my thing is like where r the African American doctors like I had know idea the pipeline was so bad but also like there's white dude making DNA printers but pregnancy is second class citizenry. In any case, back to the guy I wanted to have a bigger concept of why I think he was mean to me. Like I'm guessing to because it's really different when a person had to pick the race gender on the ready. Like of the iterations of the internet there is loose algos and whatever it is they can always make u jealous and materials not just be status but using algos for data to predict other products to feed the system. I felt I dealt with a crude version of it, oh ur lonely didn't date for 5 years well OK there's a guy we can put our but like we only want to know if we can make money off this communication and we can tell if ur jealous. So yeah this dude tells me he doesn't feel safe and bought like a knife. The thing is I questioned why he did it when like just yesterday he told me he was so busy with paperwork but he was like his girlfriend understands him and they r going our for dinner and drinks. And like it hurt my feelings cause the most we did was like beer at the gas station. And I dont know mental illness kicked in and I'm like trying to express myself but also saying like its more important to point out like watch out bruh like there some weird people who will pick on your vulnerabilities. But yeah my feelings are still hurt about it. Its only so much I can say to keep myself OK and still be like bruh like youre in weird predicament it is not going to be solved be being over and making me jealous. And like yeah I was trying to tell him like sure he's in rvc but like whatever money he thinks he earning it really being like there's just cheap low hanging fruit and whatever is out there they wants that money back and all the interest yesterday. And it really being like I never had to pick me race on the ready so I dont know what to say and like me being like you really have to look into African American doctors pipeline is like the last thing someone wants to hear when like boobies and booze are all up in there. Its really sucks because like my feelings were hurt and I was trying to be like hey what's up love. I cannot decide whether I like ballet flats either lol. Converse just dropped some Mary Jane ballet flats that still have the converse vibe and I'm so tornnnn. I think they are cute in a 2014 way but I am not sure I am ready to revisit wearing flats again
Hey, you are so cool to me lol... I am starting medical school this year and I am so curious about your journey to get in since its so so so insanely hard- taking the MCAT, getting clinical experience, college experiences etc. That is a major accomplishment that I feel like is a patch of lore that you dont talk about much on your channel... I understand if its not fun to dwell on since you aren't working in biology/ stem anymore but yea it would be cool to hear more what drew you to medicine and how you feel now/ what you think for the future if youll ever use those skills again
