How are you rolling in neutral, take brake off, shuts engine down. Shouldnt you plug the lines into each other to avoid hydrolocking?
@DeereX748

The downside of a PTO generator is that it ties up the tractor from other tasks while its being used. If your power loss is due to a natural disaster such as flood, hurricane, tornado, etc. you may need the tractor for clearing damage and debris. I think a standalone generator is always a better solution to a temporary power loss unless you have additional equipment and can spare the tractor. You may have to use the tractor-powered unit if your power requirements are too great for a portable unit to handle.

A trade off, it’s a fairly low cost way of getting a large KW generator, especially if you shop Facebook marketplace. I’ve seen 25-35kw pot gen heads under 2k. A generator of that size would cost 10k+. An adapter to run it on a side shaft motor would be Nice though.

A mother bin is another expense. By adding a mother bin means that there is one more augering step in moving grain which makes for more fines= loss. Fuel used to pull the mother bin to and from a set location and fuel used to drive the long auger= loss. Dont be a slave by having to pay some manufacturer the high expense of a mother bin.

Can't argue with that. I love Deere tractors, but those 5E's no way I'd buy one. I run all 6M Deere's, I'd love to have a JD 5M but not interested in the twin stick transmission that is offered on the 5E's and 5M's.

@@nicholasbrown7068 that transmission and the price of it is exactly what I have no interest in one. The new 5ms have the same trans as the 6ms but I still just don’t like it.

Sales guy can only regurgitate the lies from the uninformed or lying JD training staff. I've seen it first hand the lies that JD spreads at their training programs. All they are doing is setting their sales force up for failure by looking like they are either used car dishonest or uninformed. I'm specifically referring to his comment about the regen not being automatic. About 10 years ago one model was set up that way (not even an M5) and they changed it right away. JD still spreads that lie and apparently uses it as a blanket statement across the entire Kubota lineup. He also exposes his ignorance by comparing the M5-111 to the 5100E.

Too much augering of grain produces more fines. Heavv mother bins make deeper compaction in the ground.
@Beyonder8335
@Beyonder8335 10 месяцев назад
Sure but I doubt you’d get too much damaged grain running it through one extra auger in normal conditions. And the compaction would only be at the field entrance
@tira2145
@tira2145 9 месяцев назад
It would be less compaction. Set this up at the field entrance. The semi's wouldn't have to enter the field. It would take a little extra work to build a pad for it, but you are only using this on huge field's. Plus I doubt that you are moving this in the field fully loaded.

I’ve shopped and compared these size tractors extensively. The John Deere 5100E in no way compares to the Kubota M5. The Kubota is superior in every way by a long shot! Proper comparison in vs a 5M. 5 M has a few better options than the M5 but M5 has cab size larger and you can get more HP for far less money. 5105 M fully optioned was quoted at 105k whereas the M5-111 fully optioned was quoted at 83k. Kind of a no brained.
@mjpopp
@mjpopp Месяц назад
I have a M5-111. The JD M series is definitely a better machine. Transmission alone makes it better. However, I would put the M5-111 between a 5100e and 5100m. I also feel like the M5-111 is weak on torque, it doesn’t feel as powerful as a 110Hp should be.
