Whatever the young gentleman asked comes from a place of logic. The problem is that questioning the national anthem is grossly uneccessary when we as a nation are yet to amalgamate our diversity into one entity. Each and every citizen of this country needs a common point of expressing love and pride in their nation if we are to eventually unite as citizens of Bharat, and there is no better way to achieve this than the national anthem, and any form of symbolism for that matter, it won't make you Nazi Germany!!! This is because our ideals as a nation isn't that of Nazi Germany. It is a beautifully crafted anthem, yet convineintly sized so that no citizen's daily life is greatly disrupted, or disrupted at all while exhibiting love for the nation and embedding their identity of that of an Indian inside their minds. Such questions are reserved for a time when the Indian identity finally reigns supreme in the minds of every citizen, and have no place to be discussed upon right now. Like Sadhguru said, we haven't reached that stage of evolution yet as a nation.
The pioneers that secured independence fought for the freedom and the right, even to insult the national flag. That is freedom. What was this Sadh"guru" doing at time? Cowards always speak brazenly in the absence of a threat.
This is what happens when you allow Quota system to filter students for admissions. Standing up for a national anthem should not be a question of debate at all, would stand up out of pride, respect and loyalty for the country, if you love your country you will stand up regardless.
People who don't have patriotism are the ones who thinks with selfish gains, these people are not fit for lawyers. They will only help and lick for money.

The student got what IT deserved. But this man is also not a saint. He's still a suspect for his wife's murder and lied about a lot of things. Sadhus do not live a life of abundance they renounce everything, EVERYTHING.
People who are clapping on this man's stupid question is surprising enough but giving an explanation on this is like talking to the ignorant fool who has no intention to listen and understand the other person perspective is itself total time waste.
All these students will show their allegiances to foreign country they migrate, i hv seen such indians doing social work in foreign countries for citizenship yet when comes to their own country no time for anything except insulting people who is trying to make positive changes. Just remember majority of foreign countries look down on Indians. Especially when comes to women their behaviour is worrying.
I love the passion and intensity from the Indian students. I respect them. They are charging the issues their nation has gotta fight. We, westerners, take it for granted. But my wife lived in India 6 months due to her job (fashion modeling). She had flatmates from Canada and Russia. We are Brazilians. Long story short, can you believe that a guy from a photoshoot, where she felt really uncomfortable, guys looking weird, got out of there, and the agency called her and said “if you show up here, I’ll break both your arms and legs”. Well, you western friend reading this, have you ever felt so entitled in life, up to the point you’re right if you break a girl’s arms and legs just because she’s uncomfortable not doing something you told? I know you have never! But in that ancient part of the world, they do. So, before spiritual philosophy, they have base level issues to fight. Great students!

Nobady compels you to stand up for national anthem, its the pride,love and respect for Nation which comes from the heart. I'm actually feeling very lucky that my parents instilled patriotism and nationalism in me, Nobody out of this countries border knows me, my identity there is Indian. These are the type of people who will cry that Democracy is in danger but when they are asked to perform there duties as a citizen suddenly they remember Artical 91. Oh the sheer Hippocray.

Its true that your are working and giving contributions to our nation in your way. But think about what Sadhguru said he was saying if one family can't run without giving emotions and loyalty how do you plan to run country. By standing up to nation and singing anthems we are saying are greatful for this country to live in we respect our country. Its matter of showing respect by standing up. Do we not bow down infront of our parents to show respect its not written in constitution. Just like this is unwritten rule we made it like we should stand while singing anthem. Just because you have a option in constitution doesn't mean we should exersise it. Country will not work if you say stuff like this you are highly educated you can show your patriotism in by working but as a country of 1.4 b people everyone can't do like what you are doing. To make a common ritual or rule we are doing this. It will be common for rich and poor, educated or uneducated every one feel we are participating in such events. Just because its constitutional right does not mean we should exercise it.
So now that the scenario is changed u can go to temples while on periods? And ur saying women were "given the freedom" not to work or pray, so that she can take care of herself. What if her cramps aren't that intense and she doesn't have to rest? And wants to work and pray anyways? This reasoning that Sadhguru gave is pure Bullshit.
Unfortunate that I have rarely listened to Revered Sadhguru. This video is so impressive about Sadhguru ' s articulations to handle few so called educated perverts. These guys are perverts, in my opinion, as they are reaping all benifits from the Republic of India while deying least respect towards the national flag of our beloved country, India. Yes, our democracy has multiple lacuna yet to be addressed. Government after government could be accused for this crime but National Flag, National Anthem are not synonymous with the governments and prime ministers. National flag, National Anthem are our perceptions about our country blended with our Nationalist immotion.
