It felt surprisingly large with all the extra floor space, have fun on your cruise! We'd love to hear your thoughts after you spend some time in the room!
They tend to not let you start going through security until your time, but 20 minutes may be close enough. The lounge is only really used for the first time slot or two, while they are getting the ship ready. After that, you just get on the ship right after you go through security.
Cool! We just got back from a cruise a few days ago, and all of these are still true! It was a different roving piano player though, and the casts of the shows are mostly different, but still amazing!
Thank you! Just be careful with the golf balls not to lose them or leave them behind. The magnetic shelves are so useful, and the taller sides mean that you don't have to worry about things falling off the shelf nearly as much! Plus they work anywhere in the cabin!
Nope, not at all! The hallways are long enough, and Central Park is generally pretty quiet. Plus there are doors at both ends that block noise and weather too.
Extremely helpful especially for first time cruisers on Oasis class ships. It is so much easier than pulling out my phone or finding a map on the ship. Thank You for making these.
Thanks! I really like this terminal, but it can look overwhelming from the outside, so I was happy to share all the information I could to make it less intimidating!
About 7 of them (depending on what you count as a restaurant). It sounds like a lot, but there are more than 7 that are free (although the Main Dining Room is the only one with sit down service). A good reference is to use our ship guidebooks, available for free at www.cruisingsecrets.com/guides
I wouldn’t advise the bringing of your own golfballs, there had to be a reason Royal Caribbean opted to use those balls whether it is meant to do with the environment for if they go overboard or safety.
I'm sure they have their reasons. I would hope that anyone bringing their own would be careful with them, and not leave them behind for someone else to misuse.
This footage was all shot with either Allure of the Seas or Harmony of the Seas. Both are Oasis-class ships, so they look pretty similar. Right now Harmony of the Seas is the "big ship" sailing out of Galveston from Royal Caribbean. Thanks for watching!
All you can eat and rink is not worth it , I ordered Modelo on a Can , they brought Me Tecate light on a plastic cup , The second round We went straight to de bar , and requested a can of XX and they said that I would have to pay for it , later on around the third round of lousy beer the cups started to smell like scented detergent , and the beer tasted like if they had added some kind of bitter alcohol on it .At that point I was fed up with the situation ,and decided to stop drinking , My brother in law continued drinking and got too messed up that Im sure those beers were tainted with something !! If You can avoid all You can eat and drink do it , is not worth it
We booked our first cruise and have one of these forward facing rooms on deck 7. It seems pretty amazing that it's a cheaper room. Thanks for the informative video!
South isn't much cheaper, right now it looks like it's $22/day, whereas North is $25/day. There are parking lots nearby that are probably cheaper, just not as convenient. Some hotels even offer to let you leave your car for free if you stay there the night before your cruise.
Thanks for the heads up on booking the shows early, is there still available seating if you don't? We are so close everything every night says sold out except one, which I booked.
Great question! Yes, there are usually plenty of seats for people who walk up, the line can start forming up to an hour before the show starts. There is one line for people with reservations, and a line for "standby" people. About 15 minutes before the show starts, they will let the standby line in, so you can still get pretty good seats if you're willing to line up early. The line for people with reservations is allowed in about 30 minutes before the show, so either way you probably want to get there 45-60 minutes early if you want to be able to get your choice of seats.
use good, strong, clear tape to attach your room tag to your checked suitcase. if you use staples, the tag can be torn off and you will not receive your luggage. ask me how I know. undelivered luggage is kept at customer service on the ship.
We always recommend luggage tag holders with metal cables that hold them to the luggage! You can find our whole list of packing recommendations here, including links to the luggage tag holders we like! www.cruisingsecrets.com/packing-tips

The golf balls are designed to dissolve in water if they go overboard. DO NOT BRING YOUR OWN GOLF BALLS. There is a reason that they won't give you real ones -- too many of them ended up polluting the ocean.
@@nd5713 Sounds great! Be sure to subscribe so that you can get more tips between now and then! I've got more videos in the queue for excursions and activities in ports that are often visited from Galveston!
Great tip! It had a long line the morning I went, so it wasn't TOO much of a secret, but still a good one to share! I thought there was some limitation to the free breakfast menu, but I don't remember exactly what. Still worth visiting, the breakfast sandwich I got was good! Thanks for sharing your secret!
Did they have fresh cut fruit anywhere aside from the buffet? Ie. Melons or pineapple type stuff. They used to in Park Café, but on your video looks like they no longer do
I know I got some in the morning one time at Park Cafe, it was pineapple in a plastic cup. It was on the side next to the drinks if I recall correctly.
Donut place? In windjammer? Never seen that, I saw the regular donut with the hole during breakfast time but not thr donut hole itself. Hmm and it was just 2 weeks ago.
All of our uncommon packing items can be found at: www.cruisingsecrets.com/packing-tips I've added it to the description too, I realized I forgot to do that when I published the video, thanks for pointing it out!
We always stay park and crise hotels, at any port. First thing do is find A Porter. they know where all the pick up points are. enjoyed this video. miss the trio last time. will look for this time..
Hi. Never been to TX and thinking about taking a cruise out of Galveston. What do most people coming from other states do to get here? Fly into Houston? Is there a bus RC provides from there? Or do we have to rent a car and drive there?
Most people from other states end up flying in and taking a shuttle or taxi/Uber/Lyft to get to Galveston. There are two Houston airports: Hobby is much closer, but smaller, so flights are more limited. I would still recommend it because the transfer costs to Galveston will be cheaper and quicker. RC has shuttles available for an additional cost, but I haven't used them personally. I would not recommend renting a car because it probably won't be worth the hassle or cost if you have to park it at the terminal for a week.
In the Spring of 2023 I pre-booked "covered parking" near the terminal, but when I arrived (early at about 11:00am) there were no parking spots available in the "covered" area. Fortunately, a really nice attendant allowed me to park in sort of a no-parking spot in the north lot that was almost as close to the entrance as covered parking would have been. Disappointing that pre-booking and pre-paying doesn't guarantee a spot! Hopefully Royal has solved this issue with their "reservation" process.
Yes, for the first year it seemed like there weren't really checking for reservations. But when we went in January 2024, we had to use our barcode from our reservation to get in. Hopefully that is helping prevent people from parking in lots they didn't pay for!
I have reserved covered parking for later this year. I know the people disembarking have to leave first, but what time should I arrive to ensure a covered parking spot?
In theory, they haven't oversold the lot and you will always get a spot if you reserved the North Covered Lot. Usually everyone has to be off the ship around 9AM, and the first check-in times around usually around 10:30, so getting a spot should be easier if you arrive around 10AM.
@morrismaloney3311 I thought if you paid for that area, you are guaranteed a spot. I hope so, I paid 200 for a spot so I can get as close as possible.
