I recently injured my left tibia near the ankle and I am waiting for tomorrow to get a knee scooter because Using crutches is kind of hard for me since this is my first fracture
My only question is that it's her right foot. So she was driving with her right foot stepping on the accelerator and brake? My Swivelmate is arriving tomorrow.
I don't have van and a sliding door. I have a regular car and If I put the scooter in the back seat I can't get back into the front to drive because of getting round the back door, and the same for getting out of the car.
*WONDERFUL‼️ What a LIFE SAVER‼️•_•>**imgs.love/ELENKERWalker?f32f ** My crutches were absolutely killing me and this is the BEST SCOOTER EVER‼️It is working with my daily life far better than I expected! Sturdy, easy to maneuver, and does not put a strain on every other part of your body like crutches do! I AM SO THANKFUL! And it arrived about 30 hours after I ordered it ! Very happy !*
The metal housing on the rear brakes is a killer. It sticks out and cuts your ankle when you turn if you do not take small steps. The turning radius is a problem too. If you take sharp turns through the doorways in your house you will leave deep scratches on your wood door jambs. The culprit: again the metal housing on the brakes. The upside is the offset cushion for you knee and the stearing column. I know of no other knee scooter that has this particular feature. However, if I need a knee scooter in the future, I'll be looking more closely at other brand models.
I was seriously thinking about reining a knee scooter I brokey ankle in 3 places and dislocated it along with tearing the ligaments and tendons.. However unfortunately this video has put me off it just doesn't look safe what happens if it topples over.
She wasn't really hurt because the whole reason you use a scooter is because you can't weight bare your foot. She literally was standing on the braced foot. I'm in my second casted foot and no way in heck I'd put my foot down. You can't use a scooter for weight baring either.
Great Video...!!! But really, put those teenage boys and husband to work...!!! This is disappointing...my wife fell rollerblading and since the accident has never lifted a finger. Four teenage boys here and I would have been disappointed if they did not step up which they did. Wish I knew about knee walker then, I carried her just about everywhere when she did not want to use her crutches.
Thank you for saying what I was thinking. I recently broke my ankle and my family has been so helpful, no one should have to be doing laundry sweeping or going grocery shopping by themselves in a cast, never mind driving which is wreckless. I use a wheelchair black I think I am now really scooter .
Wife broke her ankle recently. Insurance wouldn't cover these and they're outrageously overpriced. So, I went on Craigslist. After some diligent searching found one for $50! It was sturdy, mechanically sound and functional. But, seat ripped, full of stickers, chipped paint, etc. I stripped it apart, painted it all mat black and had the wify sew some cushion covers from some old fabric. It's so awesome now. When I'm done, I'm gonna put it back on Craigs for $200, quick sale too.
I rented a knee walker 3 weeks ago after watching this video! It has been a life safer, literally! I fell 6 times on my crutches.........I was just waiting for another serious injury like a broken arm. The knee walker allowed me to even go on a long awaited camping (with a camper of course) vacation with my family! My 2 year old grand daughter loves to ride right in front of my knee and scooter around with me!
I'm dealing with the same thing and I'm so happy about the development of this scooter. I may even buy one to use for outings that require lots of walking.
Oh waaaa! Everyone cries over weeks of no weight bearing. It has been over 10 months for me! It is my right ankle and I drive with my left foot. Appreciate your circumstance, as I know it could be permanent but hoping for the best outcome.
yipes, your RIGHT FOOT?? I fractured my ankle, and al I can say is I am so thankful it was my LEFT ankle, so there is no issue with driving. I don't know what I would have done if would have been my rght ankle. I don't think I could have driven.
Similar situation. Excellent example of home and work experience.Love to see this video with a knee walker too. Three months no weight bearing fractured metatarsal.Really changes your life.
OMG, I just broke 2 metatarsals & possible lisFranc injury too. I have a podiatrist appointment tomorrow. You had 3 months no weight bearing??? Gonna have to take a FMLA from work... oh the bills too. I will see what's gonna happen next day.
