The Glenfiddich Championship is revered by pipers and spectators not only for its venue but also for treating the competitors like the elite musicians they are. One aspect of it is not rushing the competitors on stage but giving them the time they need to get ready. John is tasked with introducing the piper exactly as long as this takes. Not more, not less...
