Hi ˶ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ˶ I'm a Product Designer in New York City who was diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer, Adenomyosis/Endometriosis, had my bowels perforated, and had reversal surgery for colostomy in 2022.
On my channel, I share my experience navigating health challenges, documenting the hardest seasons of my life. Watch my journey of resilience, a story of survival. Sharing my experience helped me to not feel alone, but to use the power of transparency to spread messages of strength and courage to live our best lives.
I had complications after donating a kidney. Eventually had to get a central line in the ground by a first year resident. Had to have something for blood transfusions and fluids and meds. Praying you feel better. Pain meds make me nauseous as well. Phenergan was all that helped. That and Tylenol.
You are amazing. I had my reverse done in February. I can't seem to enjoy food anymore. Can you tell what kind of diet you were eating? Is it ok to eat rice? I'm at the point of giving up sometime, but your video encourages me to continue on this lonely road.
it took me a while to start eating normal food again. start slow and incrementally add. i found that when i couldn’t eat normally, it really affected my mental health. Takes time.
Music is too distracting to listen to you. Wishing you well. You could have probably helped more people.. During school lectures, music isn't played because of sensory overload. Lectures are not presented at concerts. Thank you for trying to share.
JESUS HAS SAVED ME, I ALMOST DIED AND I THANK HIM EVERYDAY FOR TAKING CARE OF ME! I AM GOIN IN ON MAY 13TH FOR MY REVERSAL! I AM GOIN TO KEEP U IN PRAYER! 🙏
Hello, I would like to ask how much did you spent for the reversal colostomy? Huhu barely need po para makapagipon ng ulit ako for my father’s reversal colostomy
I have a tail gut cyst with two lobes the size of grapefruit and walnut connected by a strand that may be connected to other things. Having hysterectomy to clear the way for the cyst removal. I'm 51 and done having children so I'm OK with that. I'm super worried about resection of vagina and/or bowels. The ostomy just overwhelms me frankly. I'm also just curious how long I will need to be out of work and resting. Do I need one level living? My cyst could be cancerous...but they won't know til after surgery. Thank you for sharing your journey. Even hard stories are good preparation for what could be....
Hello! I didn't have any special diet for Thyroid. I did have a limited diet for Colostomy, no fiber allowed, only white carbs and stewed meat. Afterwards, I didn't have any limited diet.
I just came across your channel and feel less alone. I have had adenomyosis, endometriosis, PCOS, uterine fibroids, endometrial polyps, and ovarian cysts. I recently got diagnosed with thyroid cancer. I was born disabled with spina bifida, became Deaf at 3 months due to hospital negligence and since then have developed over 20+ chronic illnesses including some unknown autoimmune disease. The cancer is kicking me while I am already down… but I am gonna beat it since I am only 32 with a good chance of survival. My surgery to remove the cancer in May 2023 did not come without complications. I ended up in ICU and nearly died. I had heaps of cancer in my neck and my lymph nodes were as big as golf balls. I lost my whole thyroid and the parathyroids, and had a neck dissection in which they removed many lymph nodes. I had my RAI in August and now I am just waiting to have the scan to see if it worked. I have had a few surgeries but the one surgery they won’t let me have is a hysterectomy, because I haven’t had kids, even though I don’t want to have them! They didn’t care that I bled for 8 months straight at one point. I have no rights to my own body… Taking the pill continuously may have caused 10+ tumours to grow in my liver, so I had to stop taking that as well. So now I am suffering and bleeding so much and begging for a hysterectomy at this point. I have no idea if I have cancer in my liver or not, still trying to find out. They did a PET scan (cancer scan) and various parts of my body lit up. I have multiple enlarged lymph nodes, tumours and nodules throughout my body and organs. I also have a pre-cancerous blood condition that I am hoping hasn’t progressed to a blood cancer. This year has been really scary and I am hoping 2024 will be a better one. Anyway, I have seen that you have had the surgeries to solve your issues… I really hope you’re doing a lot better now. ❤
i’m so sorry to hear all the pain you’ve been through. It is traumatic and i hope you have support or seek support to find peace through the rough times. it took me a while to get back to “normal”, and meditation/journaling/gardening was very helpful during the time to stay grounded
@@iamOOTO Thank you so much for your reply and kind words. Absolutely need to do things that ground you when going through a stressful time. I need to do that more, but I find myself so sick and tired and unable to lift my head off my pillow… I am hoping that I can get on top of this mountain of pain, suffering and stress. I hope you are doing well now and adjusting to your new normal. ❤️
New subscriber going through your playlist of your journey. Thank you for your honesty and letting us know everything im positive it will help many. I hope this finds you well a year later. 😊
@iamOOTO I still can't get over how they would have done a surgery you were completely unaware of. So glad you caught that! My journey begins Jan 3rd have my first appointment. Blessings to you for a healthy and happy future always. Let us know how it's going. 😊
I call what I have is a gymnastics heart. I went to several doctors and had many tests and they don’t know what the issue is. I went in for emergency surgery and during surgery my heart went crazy then after a few days out of ICU I had issues with my heart and it took 2 hours to get me settled. That evening I said to the nurse see you tomorrow. She said yes if you are still here. You must know that I am a very comical guy, during my situation.
I too have a colostomy due to perforation during a sigmoidoscopy. Same for me…ptsd! Had sepsis, 21 day hospitalization, almost died. I get my reversal in January! Thank you for sharing!
Hi 👋 I get my first surgery on December,I have a colostomy bag right now on my stomach, this Friday I have my exam for review and after that my schedule for my reversal colostomy,,may I can asked a couple questions?
@@JoseRamirez-gs5uj I had a colostomy reversal 2 months ago. They did it via laparoscopy, so, just small incisions. I had wondered the same thing at first. - It is still annoying to have more scars so please ask your physicians for Clear details if this is an issue for you. It's nice to be rid of the bag, anyhow, and my bowel recovery has gone pretty well. (Constipated at first.)
I totally relate to you, so I must say I feel what you are going through… I had a total hysterectomy and bowel[rectum] resection due to endometriosis… had further complications that resulted to a temporary loop ileostomy and I have been carrying the poop bag for 13weeks now, there is a hole in my rectum and my surgeon is waiting for it to close before I am clear for my reversal. It’s been a lot of crying, depression, suicide thoughts etc but all this has brought me even close to GOD. My question is , what part of your colon perforated and how long did it take before reversal? And finally , how are you doing now after being reversed? Thank you. I will be praying for you and all those currently going through this. Be strong! Love and light . 💫
Amazing journey told with a vulnerable and informative narrative, like know other!! I’ve suffered for years before being diagnosed with Adenomyosis and I learned more from you than any doctor ❤️❤️❤️❤️ I’m so happy you’re doing well😊 how was the transition from the colostomy bag to being back to normal because so many people have a hard time adjusting? I’m so happy to have found your channel, thanks so much for all the information and sharing of how it really is. ❤️😊✌️
aww that’s so nice of you to know that. i started this channel as an outlet while going through this journey. I’m doing well now and because of so many new comments on these videos from last year it makes me want to continue posting post-operation updates! ❤️
So happy to hear from you and see how you are doing. It is reassuring to hear you talk about the careful steps you’re taking introducing food into your system. Please continue to improve and get back to us in a few days if you feel like it. ❤
Great news!! ❤❤❤my daugthter had her tailgut duplication cyst removed on sept 7. It came back as negative it was just a cyst nothing malignant..👐🙏 she is now recuperation she still can sit staright nor lay flat on back.
awww awesome! so happy for your daughter and i’m glad it was normal one and not malignant! it will get better everyday. i can barely sleep on my sides and have to sleep on my back this whole 3 months 😀
I am so sorry to hear what a difficult time you had! Thank goodness you were in a good hospital with great doctors. It sounds like the worst is behind you, thank goodness! I hope you continue to heal and feel better every day! 🙏💕💐🌺🌸🌼
@@iamOOTO Colon perforation reminded me about an episode from The Arch of Triumph novel written by Erich Maria Remarque (the aging doctor perforated uterus and pulled in the intestines)
Thank you for sharing. I have been watching your journey and I am so impressed and proud of you that you can talk about this with a smile. You are so strong. I am Praying for your recovery.
Happy to hear that everything healed It most be very scary to have to go thru surgery again but you are strong and brave. In Gods name you will be great!
You were having symptoms but didn't know it. Hair falling out and feeling foggy and the other symptoms you were experiencing are common thyroid issues. I hope you are feeling better and get everything figured out
