Doctor Strange is a human. He was not born with magic neither he received powers from a helmet or a testtube or any other object. He merely learned mystic arts just like how Tony Stark learned futuristic technology, batman learned different fighting techniques and Hawkeye learned archery. So if you say Doctor Strange is a sorcerer, then by that logic, Tony is a technician or a mechanic, Batman is an assassin and Hawkeye is an archer.
