Definitely some mistakes from the kano for sure. Too much blocking, not keep an arsenal, shooting damage turn 0 and not playing dpot, etc. Kano is hard but that is why recording helps us see where we mess up!
Nocking endless lets me keep an arsenal, and I didn't think that putting them at one was worth more than that. My line of thought was that at that 2 life any 1 cost arrow dominated, or a 0 cost + a buff would have been enough to close out the game. Obviously here it worked out, but I can see your line being better. I'll be at Italian nationals, but we haven't been able to fire a lot of drafts yet, so I'm not confident.
Turn #9 13:30. When you played razors from arsenal then nocked to load the Intertia I think the correct line was to not play razors, azalea it instead then you can get 1 extra damage from intertia and an on hit. Are you playing at any Nationals event? Great gameplay videos keep it up
Thx for this Azalea serie. I am learning how to pilot the deck and I enjoy looking at your games. Question 🙋♂️: why did you side out Remorseless into Ninja? I Would instinctively kept it to make damages during their wide turns
Thanks for enjoying the series! To put it simply, it's because unless remorseless kills them, the damage is not relevant. Zen is capable of presenting 50+ damage during his combo turn, it doesn't matter if remorseless lost him 10 health that turn, we are most likely dead or incredibly behind after said turn. In my experience, Azalea doesn't win against Zen (and Katsu) by racing, but by chaining enough disruption that they can't close out the game, and then we can chip them down or throw a dominated arrow. Look at the scoreboard at 10:36 and you'll see that we never present as much damage as a ninja, but we can prevent them from doing said damage. Feel free to ask me anything more you may need in the comments or DMs, I'm not the best player but I'm also not the worst.
Primarily for Prism and Enigma, but I've been trying to use it in more matchups, the extra reload is often nice, and the bloodrot damage can close out games.
Sorry for the late reply, Dash games will be back next week after my local PQ, right now I don't feel confident enough piloting the deck, so I'm testing other heroes.
I like running Dominion into Dominia, it allows you to swiftly switch from defensive to agressive and keep Dori on her tiptoes! Silken Form too is sweet with the Quell mode on it to just prevent the breakpoint, and at the chain link resolution step at that! Thanks for the illustrative game, looking forward to some Victor games!
I've been loving your vids, the list is the closest to what I might play during RTN season. Are you willing to share your sideboard plan? It would be very helpful
I like it how you managed to build up the pressure throughout, while reducing the value of Boltyn's turn to the minimum in the critical moments! Keep it going :)
Since the list now has more defensive options, I wanted to try a slower approach. Since when racing, she can High roll mavrion turns and send "unblockable" runechants at us. Plus, since she has quite a lot of poppers we run into the problem of not being able to use dragons as damage.
She's great into Victor, fatigue Dash, Kassai, and Boltyn, since it's quite difficult to remove efficiently for them. Vs Bravo she is not great, since you need 3 cards in hand, and Bravos are generally too aggressive for her to be worth it. Vs Azalea she should be great, but I already feel favoured enough that siding her might bait me into leaking too much damage in order to play her. You probably shouldn't play her tbh, but I love her too much.
10:48 Hopefully Talishar allows you to target an ash with Invoke Miragai that does not exist at the time when you cast it, irl you would have had to target the Cromai Dust! I guess that's why the opponent wanted to have a chat 😄
Great game! At 7:50, What about not blocking the Battering Shot, pitching Azvolai to Flamescape and playing Cromai to try and put more pressure earlier in the game? Was your line of thought to mitigate damage then?
Going to 18 was a bit too scary, we generally win the matchup by either rushing her down (and dodge RitL) or by setting up whenever she has a slower turn. At this point we already had three ashwings poking her down, so we already had guaranteed damage each turn. Consider also that a lot of arrows are 4-5 damage, forcing us to block inefficiently or to leak damage (the next turn she threw a 4, a 5, and a 7), had I taken the 6 from battering, I would have ended the game at 2. Or dead from a rain razors.
Captivating game! I spotted the one-of Ouvia in your sideboard, is it insurance against guardians? Any thoughts about Balance of Justice over Crown of Providence? It's all about card advantage, isn't it?
One of my locals always plays turtle Dash, so Ouvia helps a lot in that matchup. It's also good into guardians since they need to keep two cards to kill her, and I might side her in vs Kassai since they are likely to keep her alive until they find a nourishing. Balance is always in vs ninja and brute, since it basically blocks for 5 there.
I noticed you added a Silken Form iso Fate Foreseen #3, I have been considering this arm equipment too against Kano, Dorinthea and Dromai! In the past I used to run Sinkx3 Fate x2, Sandx2 and Silken Form but never faced Kanos... How is it treating you so far?
I think you navigated skillfully in this traditionally highly contested matchup! Perhaps I would have attacked with ashwing first on the TROM turn, to allow my opponent to pop it iso the Cromai, even though your opponent wouldn't have blocked a 0 ashwing in all likelihood and you would have been highly incentivized to attack with Cromai not to let him keep a two-card hand!... I might have tried it, even though it is risky when you can't know for sure whether his two last card contained a blue for the pistol... Thanks for your vids, they are always deeply instructive for the main Dromai player. May you have a gorgeous year 2024!
I managed to 4-0 my latest armory, with a similar Redliner list against 1) Boltyn Raydn, 2) Levia 3) Arakni 4) Azalea! I somewhat broke a sweat against a Levia and an Azalea, but race is the name of the game in both cases :) Scar for a Scar does feel wonderful most of the time. Thanks for your games and discussion about the current meta!
3:15 Such a wild turn! 12:40, never seen such a nasty Phoenix :D I like how your pointer trembled then, as if in laughter :D Masterful navigation of the game!
I like it how you can pressure Boltyn throughout! These Boltyn explosive turns can be savage... Watching this game as part of my preparation for the Armory on Friday, I'm contemplating swapping the 2 Skittering Sands in this list for 2 Fate Foreseen! Any considerations on slight changes in the list yourself? Thanks for the game, it's truly important to review the losses too, to come better prepared the next time we face a specific hero!
