My goal is to reduce educational disparities by making education FREE. These videos help you score extra points on medical school exams (USMLE, COMLEX, etc.) For educational purposes only; NOT medical or other advice. Some videos contain mild profanity and hyperbole solely used to assist with memorization. Viewer discretion advised. Opinions are entirely my own.
I'm preparing for step two and I can tell you this might be the worst mnemonic I've ever seen. If you're preparing for this test I wouldn't watch this video. Dirty med is usually a really good source but I think he missed on this one
6:29 two ultra massive black holes. Epi trauma. Your ribosome neuro chain is now mitochondria. Your grands are re creating heart tissue. Your heart is now a gland.
everyone should take a moment and appreciate how much work it must have taken to make this extensive library of videos. the fact that all of this is available for free is one of the most impressive feats ive seen in all of medical education. god bless and thanks for helping me cram and pass step 1 in two weeks, wouldnt have been possible without you
Hi, love your channel! Thank you for all your effort to create these videos. Is there a document available with the info in these videos that are typed up?
does anyone know if there is a pdf or something for the high yield antibiotics at the end of this video? Maybe my laptop sucks, but its all really blurry for me
All the MOAs (besides lithium) have to do with sodium channel inactivation. When someone needs a mood stabilizing medication, at first they're like Nah Nah Nah, I'm fine. But then they get on one and their Na's are inhibited and they're happier for it :) Valproic acid: Valorie LiFTS the plates and throws them on the ground. *Elevated LFTS and decreased platelets.* Lamtotrigine: Lamo, whammo. (looks like someone smacked the white of that kids rice) SJS rash. Carbamazepine: A Granny (agranulocytosis) is driving her Car(bamazepine). She parks it on the CURB next to a fire hydrant to read a MAGAZINE. This makes people mad; it induces anger. (P450 inducer). If there's a fire, no one can get to the fire hydrant to access the water!! No water to spray because of anti diuretic hormone. (SIADH)
so basically... its primarily the autonomy of the minor pt. that needs to be respected, we need the minor's assent. and in addition to that we need the consent of the guardians except in the cases of certain conditions.
My mnemonic for benztropine and Trihexphenidyl is"My SIDE piece BEEN TRIPPING over my EX, we only had HEX Tri times." Side and ex are for extrapyramidal side effects. Been Tripping for benztropine. Hex tri from trihexphenidyl. My mnemonic for glycopyrrolate is glyco-drool-a-RATE. Ipratropium is Opera Opium because Opera singers need to breath good to sing.
