Some mechanics had no knowledge on this, istead have removed the zd 30 replacing TD 27 . Original was using Two filters, this time after replacing tis been using one filter, but now it's down need another engine. My d22 is doing the exact same thing, air leaking in and out or this 'Banjo' bolt but I cannot find a replacement part!? Anyone know what the actual name of the part is?
One info if your car start hard over night: That bosch overflow valve it have a blender for air bubbles bulit in, (that small hol) and it won't keep the pressure into the fuel pump (the fuel pump don't need pressure to work, the fuel pump need fuel inside to work, not AIR . Don't confuse the fuel pump with the injection pump. The fuel pump it's inside the injection pump in this Bosch vp 44. The retun hose are conected directly to the fuel pump by that overflow valve. So if you have any leaking on the return hoses , that leaking will fill with air your fuel pump , throug that small hole (the blender). Check any leakage by filling the return hoses with compress air. (And of course check the one way valve on the fuel filter olso with compres air ). You can check all the injections likege at once assuming that the one way valve is working properly: take out the fuel hose from your fuel tank , (turn and return) fill with compressed air the turn hose , and block the return hose. If you have broken hose you should heare or see it. (The metal pipes can't be checked this way because of the pressure valve from injection) . Again don't confuse the fuel pump with injection pump.
i think you also know the engine runs perfect evwn with the fuel return hose is disconnected, right? meanin even uf there is a leak on the return hose it would'nt hinder the operation of the pump to make the engine run fine
@@endurofan9854 try to disconnect the return hose and after 24 hours idle start the engine . It will start very hard because, your fuel pulp will be empty at this specific pump "vp44". Any engine will run with the return hose disconnected, and in some cases the return hose goes through the fuel pump, and in this specific case "vp44" if you have a leak on return, your car will start hard after 24 hours idle.
Ay I tell you this video helped me I took the bolt out and cleaned when I fitted the bolt back it started with a slight turn of the key. Thanks great work
Very Fake 1st - You did not run the key to crank the engine, just went to key on not starting. 2nd - The Bolt you removed is the same one you Boltted again. ( the one you show as old is newer than the one you removed. 3rd - The bolt holes are supposed to admit the air yes cause are the same holes that feed the diesel to the injection pump.
and there is two washers not one,put one on valve bolt push into holder then put one on inside of bolt as well tighten up,or it will still leak. good effort but not quite accurate.

am having the same problem a new engene with new diesel pump but mechanic say i need to take that diesel pump for receondition can you please advice, the move an later shut down
As for as im aware the only failure point on a banjo bolt can be fit up, as in the mating surfaces. If there not clean or you've dropped it its probably scratched. That's also why NEW crush washes are essential. I'd say you'll still have problems with it tomorrow when it leaks down overnight. The problems more than likely in the delivery lines
