In the photo it looks like blocks of carbon which suits the Apple Watch for some futuristic reason, you really are an artist Karl, love the work. Thanks for sharing.
Shooting raw has helped save me a couple times when I screwed things up, like when I accidentally had my flash on manual 100% power. The photo looked like the instant when a nuke went off. The overexposure clipping was across most of the image, but the raw file was able to recover the details and make a very usable image. I did the same operation with the jpeg image and it looked horrible; the jpeg was totally not recoverable. Another time I took a low light portrait of my dog made at night with a single overhead lightbulb, which was very underexposed and grainy, and recover the raw file into one of my most favorite photos of him. Large capacity memory cards don’t cost that much any more so it’s well worth it to get a big card and shoot raw.
The legend is revealing his secrets, thank you for you immense knowledge. I used to work with an acrylic manufacturer, we made a lot of awards for highly prestigious events, essentially all the "trophy's" are plastic 😅 however to be fair, a lot of workmanship and design knowledge would be involved with each award, it was a pretty cool job. - What I was leading up to 😅 is, they can also design displays for creative product photography. Cheers,
It's a three-light set-up. The fill wall projects light, the same way the moon illuminates the night. The Moon does not produce its light; it reflects the sun but does act as a light source in the dark.
Many thanks for sharing your knowledge and tricks. It is sure ingenious to develop these backdrops because after you explained it, people say: "Oh, that's easy. I should have thought of it." But we haven't.
Excellent video Karl. I am testing AI application right now. Writing a good prompt is very challenging as you probably know 😂 Working with photoshop over 25 years I was a bit hesistant towards AI but since the apps get better by the day I start seeing the positive side about it. Thanks for showing and sharing the goodied 😊
I know there is a Windows version computer of that. Great for editing with bigger screen. I see if I can get wine bottle and practice laying out again at a future date or do some research on creative process. Thanks.
I appreciate your advice. I'm curious about your background in the shot. There's a slight vertical line in the middle, and I can't tell if it's a corner or some kind of seam. Or perhaps you shot on a green screen and it's an artificial background. Would you mind saying?
GREAT VIDEO REVIEW: I have a set of 3 Asus PA32UC monitors for sale, in boxes. One of them is new. If you know anyone, especially in the Los Angeles area, that may be interested in adding them to their editing rig, please feel free to reach out to me. I can also ship them within the USA. The color on them is amazing.
Hi Masha, what's happening to the model isn't real, where she is falling on the floor it's special effects. On the jelly shots it was a lot of fun and we all took a turn getting splatted. This video is a parody of how bad some photographers are and it includes humour at the end where the model gets her own back by squishing the photographers face into jelly. The whole thing is worked out and planned with the model in advance to make sure everyone is happy with it. We always treat the people we work with with the greatest respect and our work is always a collaboration when working with models male or female. We believe, from the previous comments, that most people understood that this video was a parody of a bad photographer and how not to behave.
I just used high resolution jpeg for non profit work since it is volunteer work, and it save spaces on hard drive. Good enough for now for social media. The non- profit is happy with my work!! Thanks for the classes. My photography is much better.
Hello Karl, great advice as always. I’m just wondering if you have ever used micro four thirds in a studio? Just acquired my first studio and that is the system I will be using. Thanks
