Welcome to The “W” Farmstead. Who are we? Wes & Tonia Williams. What are we doing? Lord only knows (and so will you)!
For over 20 years, we have maintained the family property that consists of 42-43 acres of wooded and ‘manicured’ areas. Our plans are to build up the property as a family farm with the goal to provide for the family and possibly sell what we grow and process to provide for other families.
A little more than a homestead but not quite a farm. The “W” Farmstead. Home grown is the way to go! Follow us on our venture.
This is what I used: Camco 39736, RhinoFlex Clear RV Sewer Hose Elbow with 4-in-1 Adapter There are multiple other manufacturers that make these 90 Degree Sewer Elbows. I will add a link below to the product on Amazon. It only took me almost 30 years to realize it myself. If it wasn't for the purchase of the Kubota B2601 and their procedure of tightening the Front Loader bolts with their maintenance steps, I probably never would have found the issue until it was too late. Thank you for the comment and have a great week!
We use antiseze every 3rd time the blades are pulled to sharpen. The socket was a black impact socket made by Pittsburg Steel, may not be the best but it does the job. Appreciate the comment and have a great week!
There are many ways this could be done. A friend of mine had a parts list for what he had done and we used that list. Thanks for the comment and have a great week!
As a new B2601 owner let me say thank you, sir. I was definitely puzzled about how to do this. I am about to attempt to build that resting sled for the back hoe. Thank you again from an old man here in florida
Hi Wes, thanks for your videos. I picked up a Ford 1920 and Woodland Mills WC68 myself just about a year ago, and have been loving both. I see that you’re using Pat’s quick hitch system - I’ve read that some folks need to buy a new, longer top link after installing these hitches. Did you need to replace your 1920’s top link to accommodate Pat’s QH? Any other issues with this particular QH system on the 1920? Thanks in advance.
I didn't have to replace my top link, it works perfectly with the Pat's. The Pat's is awesome, would buy it again in a heart beat. The reason I got it is because I have implements that are not quick hitch compatible and Pat's bridges the gap perfectly. The only thing I did have to do was purchase the following for the PTO since the Pat's addition pushes the PTO out 4 inches. Below is the link to what I purchased. Good luck and sorry I couldn't be of more help with the top link. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01FRHQU6I/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Thanks for the video! I have an 88' 1920 with about 1200 hours on it, I also have a newer Kubota and I prefer the hydraulics on the Ford much better, it's easier to control the bucket lift and tilt, also the Shibaura Ford is much more stable than the Kubota that gets really tippy with a load on it. the 1920 has been a great machine, I can't tell you how many times people have tried to buy it from me! I changed out the hydraulic fluid a while back and didn't know the dealer gave me the wrong filter! it gave me fits until I finally found out that they used 2 different filters for different manufacture dates! check your serial numbers, thanks again, Dale
I agree 100%! I have also had many people want the tractor also. I wish New Holland had never gone away Shibaura! These Tractors just work! Have a great weekend!
Do you leave the valves open on the tanks once it's connected permanently to the main sewer? Or is it still necessary to close the tanks and drain them periodically?
I never leave the Black tank open. Only the Gray tanks. When the Black Tank gets full, I will shut the Gray Tanks and collect water to flush down the lines after emptying the Black Tanks. Hope that helps and have a great week!
Sorry, I start mine about twice a year and I have to remember every time how to start it. My saving grace is that I shut off the fuel and allow the engine to run out of fuel and shut down. Have a great week!

I have the same model as you and what I would suggest is if you have the 4 blade rad fan, upgrade it to the 5 blade and one product I like to use is a product called wetter water, keeps my 99 721d real cool during our southwest Missouri summers. Hope this helps and stay blessed.
Looks like a productive attachment! I have a lot of bush honeysuckle on my farm (some 6” diameter at the main trunk) that have grown thick on the edges of the row crop fields. Been looking at the Jenkins skeleton grapple for removing them. I know the puller would work but the bushes are so large you’d have to crush them down to reach the center trunk to pull. Thinking grapple could crush them down and then grub out. Grapple also has advantage of carrying multiple bushes to burn pile at once. I know you have both attachments…. I’d be interested and appreciative of your thoughts of which is better for my job. I’d be running attachments on 66HP track skidsteer. (Maybe I need both attachments eventually). Thanks !!
Honestly, I think the Danuser would work better with getting out these bushes you are talking about. You can knock off the lower branches and you can also grab part of the bush and pull it out. Once you get into the trunk of the bush, it's all over for the bush. The Danuser is so versatile from digging roots to pushing, pulling and lifting the bush out. It is so much fun using the attachment. The bad part is as you said, you will not be able to carry your pile back to a centralized area without a grapple. I think in time you will want both of these attachments, you can't go wrong. Let me know how it goes and thanks for the comment. Have a great week!
Hi, iooiking at this exact grapple by Jenkins with the 3” time spacing. What are your thoughts on it now after using it for a year? One of my main grapple uses will be grubbing bush honeysuckle around perimeter of row crop fields. Also, all around use on farm. Maybe their dedicated root grapple would be better but doesn’t seem to be as handy for all around use. Your thoughts? Thank you for any insight you can offer.
I have both a clamshell and this skeleton grapple. The Clamshell is for my Kubota B2601. It is really hard to pick between the two grapples. The skeleton is fantastic for scooping brush, rocks and dirt then shaking to sift the dirt out. That is such an asset to have and use when cleaning up areas. The clamshell is great for doing the same but it is not as good at doing the job. The clamshell works great for grabbing brush piles and cleaning up downed trees. I can see having both grapples. I can tell you, the B2601 always has the Grapple on it and we use it more because of that. I think both are great and no tractor or Skid steer should ever be sold without one. Good luck, thanks for the comment and have a great week!
I have a 322d. That belt sucks to put on regardless of how you do it. That left rear tensioner does not allow enough tension to put it on so I did it the same way you ended up doing it. I ain’t seen a mower that has a tool-less design to change a deck or hydro belt. Nice video sir. I need to do a hydro fluid change on mine now lol 👍👍👍
That is one video we haven't done yet. We have about another 500 hours before that needs to be done. The process to change the hydraulic system is straightforward and follows the instructions in your owners manual. Sorry I can't help anymore than that. Good luck, and thank you for your comment. Have a great week!
Thank you for your comment. At this time, I do not have any videos on flushing the hydraulic system. I have a great dealer and usually every other year I take both the 721D2 and the 321D mowers into the dealer and they go through both machines. I had them go on and change the hydraulic oil on both 2 years ago. Thanks for the comment and have a great week!
The trick is to put mule belt on the front, top and bottom left pulleys first. Then reach far back to grab the belt and pull hard till the bottom left pulley goes all the way up. Then you have just enough room to slip it on the bottom right.
I'd be afraid of the trailer shifting and breaking off the connection at the tank. I'd use a 6" piece of sewer hose to make the connection at the tank end to allow for trailer movement. Depending on the county where you are located the fixed pipe all the way down could be considered a perm connection and may need to be inspected with that can of worms...
That is a great idea about the 6" sewer hose, could be easily done. The Fernco 1056-33 rubber Flexible Pipe Coupling does allow for movement of the trailer. Thanks for the response and have a great week!
Usually by the first of November we winterize the RV. On the below freezing nights until that time, we have had no issues. This is all I can tell you with our experience over the last 2 years. This setup is far superior to the regular sewer hoses we used in the past. Sorry I can't give you a better answer. Thank you for the comment and have a great weekend!
good maint video. i got the excact same washer that starts right up runs nice sounds great then shuts down after 20 seconds. This is repeatable and a feller can set his watch by it. So Mr. Wizard what do you think about my little quandry here in Posey county in Hoosier country. I got hammers. thx
Love the I got Hammers quote! LOL! I am in no way a wizard with issues, especially with gas engines. LOL! I had an issue with a log splitter with a Kohler engine on it. It would startup without issue and run about 30 seconds and just shutdown. What it ended up being was the vent on the gas cap was plugged and it would create a negative vacuum and just kill the engine. I would open the gas cap to check the gas and it would happen again. It took several times before it sunk in what was happening. I blew out the gas cap air holes and it took care of the issue. This was an experience that I had, don't know if you are having the same issue. If that doesn't help, there is a RU-vid Channel called Chickanic. She is really good and has helped me with several issues I have ran into from her videos. Sorry I couldn't have been more help! Please keep me posted as to what your issue ends up being and thank you for your response, have a great rest of your week.
Wes, it only took me a year, but I finally got the thing built. Man, this makes taking that thing on and off as easy as pie! It now takes longer to take off the 3 point than it does the backhoe. I can not thank you enough! This will allow me to make changes every day if needed, without having some else there in case something stats to slide. Much appreciated sir!!!!
Craig, Dale, and I had the same conversation when we were running the power wire. All I could do was laugh. Technically, you could save some money and get a wired camera. The only thing it saved was running a second wire from the monitor to the camera. But, since you are running the power cable, why not save a little money and run the video cable also. Thanks for the comment, and have a great week!
Thank you, sir. I purchased the quick connect from asktractormike.com. if you call him, he can help you get the exact version you need. He also has a youtube channel asktractormike. I will search to see if I can find the part number. If you call Mike, it would be a lot faster for you. Thank you for the comment and have a great weekend!
You will love it. If you are able, get the competition cart with it. You will not be sorry, especially if you plan on moving it around. Good luck and thanks for the comment.
Hello Paul, on my 1920, you lift the hood forward and my battery is in the front of the Radiator. I don't care for the placement, really difficult to change when the battery goes bad. Thanks for the question and have a happy new year!
Stihl is the king! I purchased a used ms291 that was sitting outside for like 5 years.....brand new Saw, owner did One job with it, left it for dead, or Lost the saw in the woods.....anyways, I literally put fresh gas, fired Right up.....fuel lines, everything were still fresh, tank was completely sealed tight after many years of sitting in the elements.....the plastics were baked really bad, had some cracks like a tree fell on it, or was Run over(like I said, maybe someone lost it deep in the woods)......but the engine has Insane compression, it literally runs new, LOL.
Wow, that was a fantastic find! My uncle had an 029 and I had an 039. Those saws were like little Sherman Tanks and cut a lot of wood. Thanks for the response and have a safe Holiday!
