Squirrels are very adept at identifying friendly's. Squirrels will not even get close to you if they don't know you. But once you start feeding them they don't forget. They are cute little boogers.
I played this course a bunch of times and 1:10 Gah! Hole 6 looks like they let it overgrow the path to the green, blocking shots. But 1:15 seeing it from the other side it looks clearer. So maybe it's just a depth illusion? In any case, this is a nice video showing off the place! it'll be rather neat to play on it with the artificial greens they put in over the winter.
Where the dock is in your video, i remember fishing for bluegill right there. My parents owned the North Star Motel from 1970 until 1976. I went to elementary schools in Townsend and Lakewood, neither exist now.
Wow....small world. We would ride our bikes to Bass and Boot lakes to swim in the summer. Lots of snowmobilers at motel in winter. We don't have those here in Central Florida..Ha....
Awesome..looks to be overlooking Chain lake. From where u were standing, looking immediately to your right on same level, there was/is a spot that was elevated and that's where I would sled in the winter. Hwy 32 would have been to your back as u were filming.
I have many squirrels in my neighborhood. Some people feed them so they are not afraid of humans - they are coming looking for food. People in parks feed them too. FEED THEM!
Fred and Kristie, my parents owned the North Star Motel on Hwy32 right by chain lake. I went to the elementary schools in Lakewood and Townsend, both no longer there. Moved to Florida in 1976.
That house is SCARY. I went on one of their other tours, and I wanted to go on this tour so we asked our guide about it and he said it’s really cool. He also showed us a picture of the house and you can see a little girls face in the window. that house may be haunted.

Had a friend named William Collier from Sylacauga, AL. who played guitar and sang, but not publicly, who used to meet me at the local grocery stores and get out of date cakes that I sold. He often would get out of date food items from the stores as well, to feed his family. He and his wife became friends with me. They were involved in a car accident and she was hurt pretty severely and they got a little settlement. They decided to take a trip to Dollywood one week. While there, his wife urged him to buy a nice guitar for himself because his was old and battered. He went inside the music shop there and found two that he liked. He couldn't make up his mind which one he wanted. The owner told him to step inside a room similar to a small studio and try each one out. While he was playing and singing the uncle of Dolly Parton came in the shop and heard him. He stepped inside the studio room and asked Bill how long had he been singing and playing. Bill replied never, other than just for himself around the house. Her uncle told him he had a special voice and a real playing talent. They played a session together and her uncle invited him to play in his band. He obliged and began touring with her uncle and his band along with little Jimmy Dickens. Playing at Dollywood and on tour. He and Jimmy played together on many occasions. Bill's wife began having health issues with all the travelling and eventually they both retired. They returned to their home in Sylacauga, but to a very nice remodeled home. I visited them several times and he showed me his nice motorhome and the studio he was building in his basement. After a few years, Bill passed away. Going from a scrounger looking for food for his family, to a successful singer and musician, touring with Dolly Parton's Uncle's band, performing at Dollywood would be considered a rarity. The right place at the right time. Miss you Bill...
