This pretty much opened my eyes as I'm not that close to my older or younger sibling, but I know that they still care about me at the end of the day. I just wish that all of this was a bit more clear in the show I love the analysis though, great job!
I'd like to shout out a kind of inverse of the incompetent dad trope called The Way of the Househusband, which is a comedy anime on netflix. The show is about a former yakuza whos become the stay at home husband of a working woman. Most of the jokes arent about him not knowing how to do housework, hes actually incredibly good at most of it, but about the sheer zeal with which he does them, and the stark contrast between his intimidating mobster exterior and actually very gentle behaviour. This man is physically incapable of giving less than 1000% in anything he does, and it makes for a great laugh.
I think this trope wont go away as long as people have appliances. It will probably become uncommon as the reasons for it become less prominent but it will always be a good, tried and true trope. We all have those moments afterall of an incredibly mundane screw up that in the moment does feel as ridiculous as on TV because it happened on top of other everyday type stresses. Compounding the stress, anxiety and frustration that often punctuates average life. Its certainly more relatable than the fantastical problems fictional characters often face.

I remember watching Sakura's death on some video I saw before seeing the anime, I forgot which video did I saw it but the bit showed up randomly and I was confused what was all that, after seeing the anime, the character analysis of Sakura, made me think me think of her as Sayori from DDLC because they do have some similarities about their happiness, depression issues and other stuffs that can be related to each other, but my character is Ai because of her personality, my favorite humor of the is where the girls bump into people when they're not wearing their makeup which they'll be screaming at each other including that episode where they go to the Drive-in Tori restaurant because of Tae's funny moments, and my favorite song of ZLS is the season 2 opening theme

I think I might've made my fanmade Link a himbo. He's Ganondorf's son and Ganondorf deliberately kept him sheltered from the atrocities he committed because he recognized that Link (his birth name is Voe Dragmire) is a moral enough person to break rank if he knows about it. This means that he's really naive (he first met two of his traveling companions when they almost succeeded in scamming him). He's very friendly even towards people who are being downright awful to him (most notable in his interactions with his Zelda, whose frostiness towards Ganondorf's kid quickly turns into awkward, angry tsundere energy towards this dumb** she constantly has to rescue and is just too nice for his own good.) He's actually pretty feminine, though, having zero issue dressing in a vai outfit and spends a bunch of downtime messing with his hair and appearance. When Zelda asks him how he's so comfortable pretending to be a girl, he basically goes, "Well, I know Im a guy. Why does it matter what everyone else thinks I am?" Also, he figures out Zelda (crossdressing to hide her identity) is a girl wayyy before any of the other main characters but kept quiet about it because she has reasons for doing that and its none of his business.
Hell yeah, read the Kyoshi books. They're great. They definitely paint Kyoshi veeerrry differently than how the fandom does, even if one of the last lines of the book goes harder than anything I've read in a long time, ha.

Hahaha you'll come for Princess Bubblegum and stay for all the other terrific arcs! Phenomenal show; be warned that the first season is a bit childish because the show started out aimed at middleschoolers and quickly matured for its audience. I'd skip season 1 and just ask an AT fan to summarize the important episodes for you (there are little tidbits of information that are used in later seasons). Season 2 is entertaining but after that it goes uphill quick.
Catra deserves redemption but this was not the way. It all happened to fast and to forgiving when people suffered through hell because of her. I get not every redemption can be a Zuko redemption but come on, do better
I think that girl in the school is not Terra she is apart of Beast Boys imagination I also think that the whole School is fake Terra her school friends the students the teachers and the school are all an allusion created by Slade maybe to show Beast Boy that Terra in never coming back (she is dead her whole body was consumed by lava no one can survive that) and if she did come back this is what the path she will choose think about it if Terra came back and she wanted to forget her past and start a normal life why would she live in the city where she tried to take over and wouldn't any of the citizens of Jump City recognize her and through her in jail for everything she has done. Terra may be messed up but she is not stupid she would have ran to another city or town far away from Jump City and start a normal life there and another thing to support my theory when the Titans noticed that there favorite stores where gone and where building a new office complex which was on the other side of Terras High School the School was not there and when Beast Boy shows up there by him self it was magically there and when Beast Boy went to talk to Terra her school friends had no idea who he was even though he and his team saved the city a bunch of times and the students seemed clueless about him in the school and no staff told him to get out. I also think in the Teen Titans Go comic Terras brother also was able to see the allusion Slade created for Beast Boy because maybe he new he was dessparet to see his sister again so he just let him see that so he would let his sister live a normal life because Slade knows Terra is dead.
Damn. I came here to find out if Adora is a Mary Sue. You explain a Mary Sue as being a main character with flaws that are surface level, if they exist ar all. You say Adora isn't a Mary Sue because of her flaws. But all the examples givin were surface level flaws. So is Adora a Mary Sue who gets a pass because you like her? Does she have real flaws that just weren't mentioned? Someone help, what am I missing?
This video was such a joy to watch! I don't think I would be able to compile a list of top 10 right now, but some of my favourite episodes are: Three Buckets, The Music Hole, The Comet, Whispers, Seventeen and The Wild Hunt. There are many more that I love, those are only from season 6-10, but idkkkk.
you brought up a really, really good point that I think about often but have so much trouble expressing! kids (and people in general I'd say) don't need only represantation, they need to see other identities. (okay, this comment is a big tangent to the topic of the video, but it is related to this line, so...) I find so annoying how people use "relatability" as a mesure of quality for characters, as if being identifiable by the largest group of people possible was something worth praising and also the only way to make a character likeable, when, in reality, most people have something called E M P A T H Y, and so they can understand and enjoy all sorts of characters, despite how different of them or uncommon they may be, but the way online discourse overwhelmingly treats this topic, is as if audiences enjoy characters only on linear progression based on how close a character is to them, which nky only is NOT true, but forcing too much relatability on characters can make them bland and boring. and all this drives me sooo maaaaaaaad
well, isn't because intelligence is subjective and diverse that everyone is the same or that stupid people don't exist, on the contrary, people can be stupid in a myriad of different ways without necessarily having another type of intelligence to "balance it out"
