Just dealt with an insurance company that Saif they would not pay to bring decking up to code. Half the house had .25" decking and we replaced with 7/16". I brought up bringing up to code and safety of my crew but the only answer the desk adjuster provided was her policy doesn't cover bringing it up to code..... homeowner paid out of pocket to bring up to code and we were both salty about it. Thoughts on this?
If you had O & L (ordinance & law) in your policy, your insurance company would of been obligated to bring the decking up to code. If it was a RCV w/o O&L or an ACV policy, you will have to pay it out of pocket.
Appreciate the feedback. After looking at your page it seems that you can do some welding. So, as your familiar with the process and sometimes understand having issues at hand. Here we had the truck down which had our big welder/generator combo. So we ended up using our cracker box with no shielding gas running off a generator. Which of course does NOT make it the best situation in those circumstances. Final product was great! Little more grinding due to the small machine but definitely solid and looks great! My condo had a flood and the property manager hired his contractor and they cut a lot of corners and now the walls are cracking and showing signs of warping. I was also that I am responsible for the flooring replacement and because of this the floors was not removed. I have struggled to put up water diverters on a new roof. I didn't want to, but how is a good way to tackle corners? In one of my corners it just floods my flowerbed.
Best way is to install a gutter system if you can afford doing so. The rain diverters will actually void a roofing warranty. If you would like to send over a few photos or email us we can put something on our schedule to come out if your in the DFW area.

It really depends on the project. We use two options typically from large vendors, one is a plant based and the other is a normal anti-microbial. Not just a typical box store product available to everyone.
