I live in Detroit. I charge $1 for CHB, $2 for promar 200, $3 for emerald. Usually about $500-$1000 for taping mudding and sanding, $50/sheet of drywall…. I have an entire pricing list and surprisingly I’m only a little hi on my emerald according to your math…. But it’s emerald and my best guys do the finish coat
@@rampropertymaintenance I took my site down and posted the course video for free. Email me - affordablepaintingalabama@gmail.com and I’ll email you back the proposal template
Question brother, A commercial 11,250 SF exposed decking painted with dryfall $111.09 a gallon retail price sprayed with 2 painters $22 an hour, how much to charge for labor and material price per square foot separate amounts please. Houston Texas. Thank you and have a wonderful day!
@@TheEasiestBusiness big Subscrib for your videos brother I been doing commercial for over 23 years and been always in the sites I didn't had anytime to learn about estimating now I am starting my own company
@@shanepeck1322 you should’ve just emailed or called me. My number is on the site and my contact info is on my channel. I’m just now seeing this. I released the course here so you wouldn’t need to pay anymore. I’ll refund the $$ tomorrow.
quick question, what if the customer gives you total sq ft of the walls which are 8000 sq ft. and the ceilings are 2000 sq ft. how would i go about charging the customer with that much sq ft coverage?
@@emdieselify you could do it at your norms rate and see what it came out to be and decide if it’s worth it to you to cut your price a little bit. Say your normal number is $0.70/sf but with that much footage you can still be profitable doing it for $0.62/sf. That would be up to you.
Would that include materials for that pricing? Biddimg on a 29k sqft interior painting job and so unsure of my numbers i keep getting around 45k theres 40 doors and 1500lf of trim @TheEasiestBusiness
@@TheEasiestBusiness I need help figuring out how much to charge per sq ft with new construction homes , and how to get more work through marketing and networking.
Hello, I have a painting company and just started doing commercial painting. Is there a way that you can provide me with a change order template, please?
take my free proposal template and change it to "change order 01" and redo the language inside of it to be a change order. it doesnt have to be a certain fancy form as long as the GC will accept it.
if you live in a big enough city you have contractors exchanges as well. Driving around and calling to get on lists, and then you have just googling and calling to get on lists. besides that, theres word of a mouth and thats about the only ways i can think of off the top of my head.
@@TheEasiestBusiness thanks man I appreciate it. We’re plugged in now but it’s making my boss pull every last hair out on his head waiting for the first bid approval 😂😂😂😂 keep grinding man!
i believe you're confusing margin with mark up. and as far as the amount being charged, its just an example. you plug in whatever numbers you want. im telling you HOW to figure, not WHAT to figure.
if you're in a big enough market you should have something called a local contractors exchange. you pay a yearly fee and the gcs upload all their projects to be bid on
Im guessing you did this for clarity in explaination, but just want to make sure. You know you can just enter the math roght in the spreadsheet, yeah? =24500*.6
A better way to calculate your margin is to divide the cost. If you want 50% margin then divide .38 by .5 and you would have a true 50% mark up of .76 per square foot.
N. Alabama quote from yesterday 31 panels @ 8’ = 248 ft Both sides = 496 ft 6’ H X 496 ft = 2,976 sq ft Labor quote was $3,400 $3,400 / 2,976 = $1.14 sq ft labor cost Assuming 16 hrs = $312.50 hr labor cost Materials are $600 DIY would be $1,000ish all in. Graco Sprayer X7 is $359 ay Home Depot
Hello, I am a 19-year-old getting into the paint game on the back end. We do about 3 million in rev, with one sales/ owner. I am looking for guidance on organization, estimating, and marketing. I've noted Facebook and EDDM for Residential and having a fixed number of estimates per week. Do you use any project managing or software to stay organized?
How do GCs use a schedule of values? It’s more than progress payment determination. What’s funny is every sub I’ve worked for is afraid of the GC “reverse engineering” our number 😂😂😂😂 so if every division is just arbitrarily allocating costs, what good are they?
lol every bit of math in here was simple division and multiplication. If a 4 function calculator is too much to handle, maybe running a company is out of the question?
Been passing up on good jobs because i dont know the biz side of painting. Im great at painting but I am ignorant with bids and how to deliver. I worked at a commercial company as a foreman and have started my own gig doing residential. It would be great to learn this and start making real money and not home to home trying to get paid.
sorry man, ive been moving and a few other things lately. finally getting back around to youtube. more than happy to do some 1 on 1 content with you (free) if I can use it for channel content
My husband is working one of these govt jobs. I'm wondering if he has a choice in how is distributed. In other words, the extra wage that goes above what he is normally paid hourly goes directly to a 401k. He seems to think he doesn't have a choice and I honestly dont know. I need to research this more. Thank you!
sorry im just now getting around to this, i moved recently and youtube has not been a top priority. im not 100% sure since i wasn't at that level - only an estimator/project manager so i wouldn't know the intricacies of how exactly they're broken down as far as wages go!
