Everyone can explain what the numbers are, I’m interested in why the numbers are what they are. In an octet, why are there only 255 numbers in 8bits, explain how that is. In the start of an IP address or subnet do the numbers even matter? Can you pick anything you want at random? And what is the effect of such.
