I show you the whole process of fishing on charter boats and give you the sportfishing experience. I try to fish often and I like fishing on charter boats!
Food, if you have a big family who eats these fish it's all going towards dinner. Some goes towards bait aswell, catfish in the inland lakes love mackerel. In the end nothing is wasted because no one in their right mind kills a bunch of fish then let's it rot away with no purpose
Thank for the info Derrick. I won a Jigging Master Gangster Stick #5 5'8UH (PE5N/PE7) spinning rod on a Evike sponsored trip. What reel & line would you pair with this rod. Would this spinning setup be a good choice for the local Bluefin Night or daytime fishing? Any info would be appreciated
@AndyArellano-zr5uz I would try out a underhead reel, evike has some on red tag. I just hopped off a JM sponsored trip where the JM crew was using underheads and I am impressed. I would run it as a daytime bluefin and light night time setup. I'd run PE6 line on it like the Varivas line I talked about. Super valid option for the bluefin!
I see that you are wearing a Seeker jig hat, and that you were using Seeker jigs in this video. What size lures in grams and their colors did you use on this trip? I'm starting to build up my own Seeker arsenal and am looking for some proven bluefin choices. Thank you in advance.
Dose it strain you because you can’t use the rail? I read something about fish coming in quicker on theses rods or something than a traditional rail rod.
Not at all, sometimes when I need a break, I rest the tip of my foregrip on the rail, then get back up to fighting in my arm pit. They definitely come up faster with these shorter rods
@socalfishincrew5410 if you fish it with heavy line there should be no problem. I have friends who do it all the time. They no longer bring bait rods they just reuse their jigging setups
This is a great video. To make it even better. Put in your written information below or a new video of the full reel, rod names, where can we get them. Little stuff like that because words dont come over video well sometimes.
The rating on the rod is for jig weight. Nothing to do with how much you can pull bigger fish as you are really fighting them straight to your reel mostly. Am I right ? I custom wrap my Blackhole 250 around 2017, it can dance 200- 300g lure nicely during the day, and not going back to broom stick just too painful to land them big ones.
@Bernardovillanueva yes I mainly base it off of how it works the jig. On the larger fish I do like a stiffer rod but generally the 100 lber range I fight them with a medium jig action rod and it does fine
@markgonzales9555 thanks, there's a time and place for each setup but a medium one is nice because it can cover all categories like a jack of all traits but a master of none
Back off the drag, thumb on the spool, so you can move around faster and so that you don't risk rubbing off on the boat. Less drag means less friction on the line and boat. Once you get out of the situation, drag back up to strike. You can even go into free spool in that situation
I think u have much better technique and skills with catching BFT with jigging than with with live bait.... lol I see u like to pint the rod downward just like when u got BFT on with jigging set up....How many short trips like this do you do a year? I do more 8 to 16 day trips over the year but since the Covid I switched to shorter trips 3days or less......Another good video from you
Great and informative video. I just found your channel. I have been shopping Evike for years and knew they had "small selection" of fishing gear. I never realized they had a whole dedicated section/store.
First time I see that a nice BFT giving you a good challenge walking around the boat.. what had happened when I thought u hooked up and then lost it and then got it back again....congrat on good catch and under 10 min it may be a record by itself from hooking to landing it. May I ask what was the lure and how heavy ? Thanks
It was cool to see your progression over the few years. I watched your recent videos and took notes of your jigs etc. thanks for the videos and tips. I hope i catch a couple this Sunday 🙏 great content keep it up 👍🏽
Brother I learned so much in this one video it’s ridiculous. You have broken down and explained very throughly and made it simple. Let up the great work brother. Thank you for the info
You guys should check out United composites new line up of GPXJ jigging rods and blanks! These things are amazing! 🤙🏻 paired with a badass Penn Torque 2spd reel 😮💨 no other setup beats this.
Is Hook-YS-MAG-FLASH-4-4-0 the one you recommend for the 300g wiggle rider. Which hooks for the HD jig, you said the double, but I am not sure which one it is on the Evike site?
Great videos you are producing. Thanks for sharing all the info. You are a natural at the videos and do a wonderful job of explaining things. Also a big thank you for responding to all the questions. Many youtubers don't answer questions.
