The most hilarious thing about “Tyler’s Bulls**t” is that Tyler could’ve easily made a simple dish. He could’ve assembled a sandwich, fry an egg, even make a freaking salad. But he was so desperate to impress Chef Slowick that he tried and failed to create a dish that was way out of his league. The dish represents what Tyler was the entire movie. A failure.
We have been in a civil war since the inception of the US, look at our history. There have been more peaceful periods but we are entering a less peaceful era now.
This movie was a love story to journalists, probably written by laid off Washington Post editors. Movie was mid at best. I wasn't compelled by the characters and the movie kind of bored me.
It just doesn't make sense-- why would he kill someone who gets help from their parents paying for college. What's she supposed to do, turn that down? To live a life of penance in the name of class consciousness is a privilege in and of itself. And it serves no one, nor does it help class struggle. Slovik isn't some righteous champion for the people. He can buy humans in the form of coercive employment, and can kill for his amusement. He also lives on a beautiful island that he catches on fire, with no concern for the environment or ecosystem there. He was not well written. In fact, this whole movie wasn't well written. I was hoping this video would reveal that the movie has some deeper concepts and references, but all I'm getting is more plot holes. Not that every film needs to go beyond the surface level to be worthy, but if this one had, it would've been *chef's kiss. * pun intended.
The moment you watch terminator 1, reese SPOILS every movie that come later. A POSSIBLE FUTURE. even this grunt knew that, just by being there, you already changed your future. It was wrong. Skynet comes from an alternate future timeline. You can't change YOUR past, but someone else's past. Change enough pasts, one of those pasts, could create your present. Think about it.
talking about grief, i agree with you, i also noticed that in the 2nd movie Tatum is not brought up by her best from Sydney or Stuwey, maybe I'm mistaken as its been while since i last watched but i thought it was pretty fucked and shitty to her character.
It is noteworthy that as much as these two Jonas and Martha were able to find true happiness and break the cycle, plot-wise it was all because of Claudia. Not only that, but Claudia seems to confirm Adam had the right idea, that to truly untie the knot it first had to be played out straight from start to end, misery and all, until you finally reach the end of the thread. Which in other words, seemingly validates that the solution was in fact to manipulate and kill themselves to this extent, he just wasn’t doing it far enough. In other words, though thematically it makes sense that the ending is about letting go of yourself and your ego, it’s still really unclear from the show’s plot where exactly that key decision happened.
in all of the out of touch hollywood fantasy this moviy was made by a guy who clearly understands a lot about civil war mechanics and keeps it real. i like the that Pres does not even understand that country is not on his side. very well shown that most ppl will also understand or care very little. and the scene where WH stuff keeps stating demands is fantastic
The real message of Monkey Planet and Planet of the Apes is a social commentary of modern society, and human life itself. Anyone who has been a teacher has been around students who are unthinking, animalistic, callous, immoral, and ruthless. They are horrible people, lacking value of most education or deeper thought. The book is making a point, along with its echo in the movie, that it is easier to survive by not doing those things, but we can witness this in modern humans in the younger members of humanity. Sure, there are also members of that same population and youth who are not like that, but the Mob is made up of the majority who are.
The Apes of Ape City in the original movie and original Timeline are Ape Supremacists. "The only good human is a dead human. Mankind is evil and must be controlled by Apes" (summation of their ideology). They will kill and stuff a human, visiting them at the museum like humans visit stuffed animals. For Apes, Humans are Animals, nothing more. They are not 'people' and it is not 'murder' to kill them, and from the human perspective Apes have an 'evil view'. Sam Harris, a modern human atheist expressed a view that would have been right at home and found support among the Apes of Ape City if Sam Harris was an Ape living in Ape City. He posited that it didn't matter how Trump was removed from office, but that he was, and that was good, and furthermore Sam would rather have dinner guests come to his home and view his collection of dead children, which we assume are stuffed like the killed human astronaut, and put on display as a personal collection of human children that the Ape Supremacist Sam Harris would have to share enjoyment of with Dr. Zaius and other top Ape leadership. Go listen to the Trigonometry Sam Harris interview and then think 'wow what he just said would be totally acceptable in Ape City if Sam were an Ape and he were speaking of Human Children. Yup, Sam Harris is that evil of a human, that he would rather have children killed and stuffed for display than see Donald J Trump re-elected. Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, and Joe Biden all would be most agreeable and pleased with that Sam Harris view and be dinner guests at Sam Harris's dinner party where he displays those stuffed dead human children. We must keep clarifying they are human children and not simian (or ape) children as that would break the Ape Law, as "Ape shall not Kill Ape", so say the Lawgiver Caesar millennia ago, and yes it makes Caesar both a Moses and a Jesus like-figure, but also a Muhammad like figure as part of Ape culture is a Jihadist culture where their faith is woven into their culture. Therre is no 'can't we just all get along' Rodney King aspects of their culture, accept from certain suppressed members like Cornelius and Zira, who are Chimpanzee Simians, and who want to see a more Equitable Ape Society.
Let's start with it was called MONKEY PLANET and Apes are not Monkey's, but the Apes in these movies like, really if you think about it, the original short story the movies are based on are NOT Apes, not true apes in the way you think of them, rather they a type of Hominin. What is that? think of the Homo Sapiens as a type of Hominin, and it and all the other 'near-human' species some of which look very Ape-Like and some which look more 'Human' in how we self-identify as the only humans, but the true reality is we are actually one of a few types and we are just as 'near-human' so realy we need a new term to describe this other than "I am human'. The Apes in the original Planet of the Apes are Evolved Apes, or Apes who have gone down the same evolutionary path that other Hominin species. Whereas, the Great Ape species are part of the group called Hominids, and we Humans and the near-humans are also Hominids, so it is all those put together plus Gibbons, or 'lesser Apes'' BUT Planet of the Apes posits what if some Great Apes crossed the line over to the Hominin Side, so making them more 'Ape-Like' like the new movies tries to do. They clearly do, but then again if this were more of thousands of years before a "planet of apes' like the 1968 that might make more sense, but then they made later Planet of the Ape movies in the 1970s that clearly showed the change was more pronounced before their 'ape liberation'. Then they did the Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes accelerating the idea the humans are mostly becoming like we see in the original movie which changes up the timeline and how it originally was. But then the original movies also created Deviant Timelines, alternative timelines than the original one. So none of these new movies can't be hand waved away how they were done. Still, I like Evolved Apes more than the more Ape-Like and 'animal' like the newer movies makes the apes.
This is not explaining. This is RETELLING the movie. Useful still to follow the plot but does not help to understand anything. E.G. why would they need to invert injured Kat. Wtf about radiation if this was inverted bullet.
I have one question to ask, is H.G. tannhaus successful of bringing back of his son, daughter in law and granddaughter's life when he created the time machine and thus the two corrupted world where adam and eva exist?
Really the person who has free will is the one with the electronic implantations and lacks empathy. Everyone else just has a false sense of free will. Each having their choices imposed upon them. Be it through false memories, instilled value/purpose, or situational existence. That cause them to perform or act in certain ways. The inability to understand empathetic feeling and thoughts can be just as dangerous as the lack of empathy. Ultimately, it causes an inability to connect properly with the people and situations.
At the beginning of the movie, they are 700 years in the future but then George goes into hibernation and by the time they crash it’s a couple thousand
The movie compliments the book. I went back and read the book after years of watching the movie, and so many things were explained in the book. I think that’s cool.
13:48 Ahh, yes tempt Max with the coast, a region he left after the first movie, probably for reasons. But also similar to in Fury Road when he knows there's nothing but sand wastlands in one direction, salt flats in another (seems the sea-level dropped, possibly the salt flats, at least based on the game)
maybe what Sergei saw on the pc is that the actual living creatures are the machines and we are just a "thing" that those machines have created. So i guess what i am saying is that yes we live in the matrix and we are not real but they are....or that our universe is enclosed in a marble that aliens use to play haha hahah hahah
Damn this couldve been huge like 2 years or so ago, whenever endgame ended. Now i really tried to watch it, and i know i used to like this stuff. But just knowing how pointless and fucked up Marvel shit is now, i just cant get into it : (
