Welcome on Wastedawn Painting Minis, the RU-vid channel about painting hobby helping you to start, to improve and to discover miniatures world ! Here, topics will be about techniques, walkthrough and experiences in the worlds of Warhammer, Zombicide and other boardgames. New videos on Saturday mornings, 11AM CET !
Good technique with realistic looking effects, but the main issue is that the end result is way too monochromatic. You need some contrast there you make it pop, even in a grimdark setting. Maybe some colorful autumn leaves on the base or some more livid cold colors. Everything is brown, which is a shame considering the amount of work you put in.
Enjoy watching your process… a sort of controlled chaos. I just wonder if the water effect was one step too far. Base grabs your eye at first instead of that great model. Think I might have stopped at the Elysian Green. A little dabbing of thinned gloss on some of the soil to give a moist effect. Anyway, great video. Enjoyed it.
Le gros problème de faire ses produits, c'est que ça devient vite addictif..... Avec un kit d'encre (Liquidraw pour moi), on n'arrive plus à s'arrêter....
firstly. simply amazing job, top effort and incredible crafting, secondly. is that fountain water spout made of mac n cheese?! complete out of the box thinking i LOVE IT!
Thanks so much Wade ! And yes, you are 100% right. Water inlet are made of macaronis ! I'm telling a little more about the whole process in the full project tutorial playlist, with comments, don't hesitate to get that if you want more offstage silliness 😁

Can I give you a little suggestion for cobblestone take erasers out of the ends of a few pencils ( ones with brass rings) now deform the rings so not perfect circles anymore then just push those into the styrofoam....tada cobblestone
Hi, I'm new to making miniatures and currently I'm making my first little diorama, although it's really a Book Nook with a tiny floorspace! I bought a laser cut plywood box that I'll glue together after I've finished putting the wallpaper on and a couple of other bits that need to be done first. It's going to be an old Victorian style miniature library, so I've made about a million tiny books to go inside it 😄. I was going to buy the books, but the ones I found at miniature supply stores were really expensive. And then I found some free miniature book templates that I was able to download and they're perfect for a Victorian library in 1:24 scale. Anyway, enough about me, I watched your other video of this project, the one which you edited to play in fast motion with cool music playing, and I loved watching it, but I wanted to see the whole thing in more detail. You're so talented and skilled. BTW, did you study to be an architect or a draughtsman? I was wondering because your drawing skills are amazing. Cheers, from Amanda Jones in Melbourne, Australia
Thank you for posting this wonderful video of your project. It was a pleasure to watch. I love the "Foam Breaker"😅, that's such a great idea and I hope you don't mind if I copy it?! You're so talented and skilled, and your Diorama turned out really beautifully. Did you study to be an architect or a draughtsman? Cheers from Amanda in Australia 👍
Hi Amanda, your message is so heartwarming ! I really hope you get the opportunity to watch the full commented project playlist where I discuss a bit more the how and why. And no, I had no particular skills or experience, just parience and will to make something I'd be proud of ! The whole stuff is just a compilation of quite easy tasks 😉
loved the build but major issue is that all stone building have lintels that extend over the top of doors and windows, windows can also have soldier courses. and all arches have large keystone in centre to support weight as do most older bridges... but still an awesome build... thanks
@@WasteDawnPaintingMinis Thankyou!.....I went to the site to find they don't send to Canada...but we must have something similar here....will keep looking.
Fantastic video, i noticed when you were cutting you haveca poster on the wall with what looked like the chapter colours and insignia of the 18 space marine chapters, where did you get it from ? I intend to make and paint a single space marine from each of the chapters. I'd like a poster like that not only for its instructional value but also because I love space marines. Carry on making great content mate
Palm trees? A castaway diorama in an island that is not on any map. A wrecked pirate ship Monster hunter diorama of plesioth or Lagiacrus. A treasure map leading to a guarded ejem treasure by a creature...
One of the coolest builds I've seen in years. The scope of your ability is amazing, from all the sculpting and painting to working with electrical. Masterful work! 👌👌👏👏👍👍🌹🌹
Imagine if this style was on the cover of Warhammer Age of Sigmar 4 Edition this summer! Why not, can I dream? ..аnd I believe this is possible: because the new Old World turned out to be not so grimdark with this shining Good against boring Evil. And there is always a hunger for Grimdark in the community!
!!!!! TIME IS UP !! John 3:16 For God loved the world, so He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Realise you are a SINNER ! You can NOT earn your way into heaven ! JESUS is the ONLY way to Salvation ! Call upon the name of JESUS to Save you ! BELIEVE that JESUS came in the flesh, lived a sinless life and then died on a CROSS ! TRUST that God raised JESUS from the dead ! By FAITH accept the shed BLOOD of JESUS ALONE as payment for YOUR SINS ! God is about to pour out JUDGEMENT on the world for 7 terrible years. Only true Christians will suddenly vanish and escape this punishment. Aliens are a LIE ! May the LORD soften your hearts. Accept this GOSPEL now, the Good News of JESUS CHRIST.
I just want to say - and I don't mean to be picky - but I have noticed exposed brickwork a lot in period and fantasy model making...I live in a rural area of England where there is an abundance of remaining 16th and 17th century timber-framed buildings of all shapes and sizes...three of neighbour's houses timber-framed cottages and a fourth farm house all built in the 17th century - there is no brick in-between the oak frames to be exposed - the walls are rendered wattle and daub - occasionally I have seen timber-framed buildings where bricks have been put in in the 19th century to shore up a cottage but this is very rare, and especially rare on larger buildings due to their wobbly nature and absence of true right angles. Just saying.
I love the picky ones ! Well, I would not just push away your point saying it's all just Fantasy buildings, that would be lazy and at this point you might have guess that's not my type 😉. I assume half-timbered houses in your place has it's own engineering, but here in France, having half-timbered houses with walls made of bricks, then covered in plaster is quite usual. You can see places like Strasbourg, Troie or almost any historical center that as been kept as such to see it (outside full stone builds like in Bretagne where bricks are less common). You can check the original commented version of the video in the playlist, where I discuss the inspirations more deeply 😉
Thanks mate. Well I guess there's nothing more important for a decent build than DIY turnips ! More seriously, I think it all comes from the little furnitures on my old Hero Quest board, I thought that amazing in terms of details ! 😊
