First concert I ever went to, in the 60s… The Left Banke opened for The Beach Boys, at the Johnstown PA War Memorial. They were awesome. I was way more impressed with them, than The Beach Boys. I was already playing in a band, in Indiana PA, but after seeing them play, (and later I met them all, when they played at Indiana University of Pennsylvania), I was hooked on playing music, and at 72, still write and record music. They were very different sounding than the many groups my band opened for thru the years. They played pretty much their entire first album… including Walk Away Renee, and Pretty Ballerina. My wife, (girlfriend at the time), still has all their autographs on their album, from the IUP concert. I was sad to hear when Tom Finn passed away.
Took me forever to rediscover this song! It haunted me for decades. I love the flute bridge. The vocals are great. Oh, the '60s yielded some true classics.
NOBODY is going to follow that cartel bitch! Even though she stole most of @nasa and @nationalreconnaissanceoffice Because Mexico is #FuckingBillyBadass!!!
I saw the band open for The Beach Boys in front of 15,000+. Clearly a major gig for them, with a section of strings and winds, 5 total, and they changed my life. To this day, records that I produce often feature orchestral instruments. I am a superfan.
Simpler times, Little League, garage bands, listening to rock & roll on WIFE-AM in Indianapolis. This song was part of that wonderful tapestry that was the ‘60s.
Super great classic song. 🥰 Takes me back many years to simpler times, fun times with friends. It was so great to be young and relatively carefree. We got along very well without cell phones and computers.
Our music will still be playing long after we are gone the junk today not so much I have 4 daughters and they grew up on everything from late 50s to mid 70s never gets old .
